Bring entries to the ARTS & CRAFTS EXHIBITION HALL (South of the Manual Lujan building) on the Expo New Mexico Fair Grounds on THURSDAY, the week of show, 6 PM to 9 PM, FRIDAY Noon to 10 PM and SATURDAY by 12:00 Noon when registration closes.

1. All entries must be built solely by the entrant. If the entrant had help building the entry by someone else, the entry will be disqualified from the competition. 2. Only three entries allowed per class by each builder to eliminate domination of the class. 3. Display bases, if used, will be restricted to the approximate size of entry. Example: 1/25 through 1/20 scale models (excluding large scale and heavy commercial vehicles) will be limited to standard display base size. Entries on display bases must not be fastened to the base in any way that interferes with the judges' ability to manually inspect and judge the entry. 4. Dioramas are requested to be no larger than 15 inches by 20 inches or a total of 300 square inches. Secure all items to base if possible. Dioramas will not be touched by judges other than obtaining table space or viewing access. The judges reserve the right to reassign an entry from one class to another. The owner will be notified of such change before judging of that class begins, if he or she can be found in time. 5. The AMCC judging staff reserves the right to remove any model from the competition if deemed offensive or obscene. 6. People who act irresponsibly around any model entry may be ejected and/or banned from attending this contest or future contests if necessary. 7. Entry pickup is on SUNDAY, THE FINAL DAY OF SHOW by 4:00 PM.

NOTE: While every effort will be taken to ensure safety of all models, the contestant recognizes that accidents, criminal behavior, negligence by any person, or acts of God may result in harm to any model. The contestant hereby releases the Albuquerque Model Car Club, its founders, officers and TNT Promotions Inc. from damage or theft. The contestant also agrees to abide by all rules and guidelines laid out for this contest.

NOTE: Dioramas are requested to be no larger than 15 inches by 20 inches or a total of 300 square inches. Secure all items to base if possible. Dioramas will not be touched by judges other than obtaining table space or viewing access. The judges reserve the right to reassign an entry from one class to another. SENIOR CLASSES (Ages 18 AND OLDER)

S-1 BOX STOCK: Car, Truck or Motorcycle. Kit built using only contents from the box. No additional detail except for paint, Bare Metal foil and any decals. Correcting body flaws like seams and sink marks is permitted. Displaying instruction sheet for model is preferred to help in judging. S-2 FACTORY STOCK: Car is as sold from the manufacturer, replicating showroom condition. S-3 FOREIGN EXOTIC: Car made outside the USA, or not commonly seen on the street. S-4 MUSCLE CAR: Recognized supercar must be built factory or showroom stock. Minor modifications acceptable. S-5 STREET MACHINE: Post ‘49 body style; any engine, treaded tires, and exhaust system with mufflers. Built for performance S-6 STREET ROD: Pre ‘48 body style; any engine, treaded tires, and exhaust system with mufflers. Built for performance. Slicks are acceptable if kit came with them. S-7 PRO-STREET: Wheel tubs, treaded tires or slicks, any engine, roll bar or cage, seat belts or harness, fire extinguisher, exhaust system with mufflers, floor pan must fit out to the inner portions of the body panels, any body style. S-8 PICUPS/VANS: Pickups with some sort of bed (includes stake bed). Vans are post ‘61 body style, stock or custom. S-9 4 X 4: Front and rear axle drive vehicles (includes Monster trucks). S-10 CUSTOM: All body styles, any major body modifications, treaded tires, exhaust system with mufflers, any engine. S-11 LOWRIDER CAR: Custom style car utilizing low profile treaded tires. S-12 LOWRIDER TRUCK: Custom style truck utilizing low profile treaded tires. S-13 MOTORCYCLE: Entries can be any scale and type. Stock, Custom, Racing, and Drag are allowed. Trikes and bicycles are also permitted. S-14 BIG SCALE: Any car or truck 1:20 scale or larger. S-15 LIGHT COMMERCIAL: Deliveries, pickups, etc. Used for a business (business name must be on vehicle.) Includes light emergency vehicles (police, ambulance, light wrecker, etc..) S-16 HEAVY COMMERCIAL: Factory stock or job-specific truck, van, or bus with a 10,000 lb. minimum gross vehicle weight, intended for commercial use. (i.e. 18-wheelers, tractors, fire equipment). S-17 DRAG: Slicks, roll bar or cage, any engine, seat belts or harness, fire extinguisher, exhaust optional, and any body style. S-18 COMPETITION/OPEN WHEEL: No fenders, all body styles, any engine (i.e. Indy cars, Sprint). S-19 COMPETITION/CLOSED WHEEL: Cars with fenders. (i.e. NASCAR, GTO, GTU, ASA, etc.). S-20 SLAM/CURBSIDE: Vehicle built with no interior or engine. Windows blacked out. S-21 SCRATCH BUILT: Major portion of the vehicle made from styrene sheet, brass, etc. S-22 MISCELLANEOUS: Any entry NOT fitting any of the other classes. S-23 DIORAMA: Must be car related and built only by the entrant. Maximum size of diorama should be 15” by 20” or equivalent to 300 square inches. Items on the diorama will not be disturbed or touched by the judges. Entries judged on scale accuracy, basic modeling skills, and uniqueness. Aftermarket components available to the public can be used. (Example: Photo Etched, Resin, Machined parts, Decals, etc.). S-24 DIECAST-STOCK: Any type of diecast vehicle is permitted. (Stock, Race, Custom, Commercial, Trucks, etc.) Vehicle must be built from a Diecast kit or a manufacturer’s pre-built vehicle. Pre-assembled detailed kits (Danbury Mint, Franklin Mint, Ertl, etc.) are not permitted. Only paint, Bare Metal Foil, and decals can be added. Original visual documented proof preferred. S-25 DIECAST-MODIFIED: Any type or scale of vehicle. (Stock, Race, Custom, Commercial, Trucks). Vehicles in this class must be modified from their original appearance. Engine wiring, Customizing (i.e. Chopping, Channeling, Super Detailing, Repainting, etc.) are encouraged. Modified Pre-assembled kits are allowed. Entrants should show proof of modifications. (Examples: Box Art, Diecast Brochure or an original duplicate). S-26 SMALL SCALE: Any vehicle smaller than 1:25th scale. S-27 TUNER CLASS : Foreign or domestic vehicles as seen on the streets today and in the movies. Must be street legal, low profile wheels & tires, roll cages, custom paint, wings, spoilers, ground effects, NOS systems, etc. are allowed.

S-28 THEME CLASS: 60 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF NHRA DRAG RACING: This vehicle must be built solely by the entrant. The model may be of any scale, make, or manufacturer. Built in a style to compete in any of NHRA’s designated classes. Bracket cars should meet all safety regulations where possible. Scratch building is permitted. Entry cannot compete in any other contest class. If needed, judges can help the builder assign the entry to the class most appropriate when questions or conflicts arise before judging begins.

S-29 THE ANNUAL RICK WRIGHT MEMORIAL MONOGRAM THEME CLASS: (SENIOR BUILDERS ONLY) Enter an original Monogram or reissued Revell-Monogram kit matching one offered from 1960 through 1975. Build it “BOX STOCK” using only parts inside the kit (Judges’ discretion allowed). Only paint detailing, Bare Metal Foil and any decals are permitted. This entry is NOT ELIGIBLE to compete in any other class. Displaying the Instruction sheet with the model is preferred. This class honors our past club president, the late Rick Wright, who died December 19, 2007. We will never forget Rick. We called him “The Rickster” so; we named the award “THE RICKSTER”. Rick’s favorite kits were the old Monogram models that he built “Box Stock”. Only one award will be given in this class. It goes to the entry that most represents a Monogram model built the way the Rickster would have appreciated the most.

Note: Senior Class awards for Best of Show, Best Paint, Best Detail and Peoples’ Choice. Senior Class will receive a special “Robert Chaney” award for Best Diorama. (If entered)

JUNIOR CLASS: (Ages 13 - 17)

J-1 BOX STOCK : Car, Truck or Motorcycle. Kit built using only contents from the box. No additional detail except for paint, Bare Metal foil and any decals. Correcting body flaws like seams and sink marks are permitted. Displaying instruction sheet for model is preferred to help judging. J-2 STREET MACHINE/STREET ROD/PRO STREET : Choice of body, engine, treaded tires, exhaust system with mufflers and built for performance. Slicks are acceptable if included in kit. For Pro Street: Wheel tubs, treaded tires unless noted, roll bar, seat belts or harness, exhaust with mufflers, and the wheel tubs must enclose the tires between the body and frame. J-3 LOWRIDER CAR: Custom style car utilizing low profile treaded tires J-4 LOWRIDER TRUCK: Custom style truck utilizing low profile treaded tires J-5 MOTORCYCLE: Entries can be any scale and type. Stock, Custom, Racing (Drag, Café, Dirt, etc.) are allowed. Trikes and bicycles are also permitted. J-6 COMMERCIAL (Heavy/Light): Deliveries, pickups, etc. Used for a business (business name must be on vehicle.) Includes light emergency vehicles (police, ambulance, light wrecker, etc.) or Factory stock or job-specific truck, van, or bus with a 10,000 lb. minimum gross vehicle weight, intended for commercial use. (i.e. 18-wheelers, tractors, fire equipment) J-7 COMPETITION - OPEN WHEEL: No fenders, any body style, any engine (i.e. F1 cars, Indy cars, Sprint car, etc) OR CLOSED WHEEL: All body styles with fenders. Any engine allowed unless limited by Race Sanctioning Body Rules. (i.e.: NASCAR, IMSA, GTO, etc.) J-8 MISCELLANEOUS: Any entry not fitting in any other class. J-9 DIORAMA: Must be car related and built only by the entrant. Diorama entries must be no larger than 15” by 20” or total size of 300 square inches. Items in the diorama will not be handled by the judges. Items must be secured. Vehicles will not need to be secured unless necessary. Entries are judged on scale accuracy, basic modeling skills, and uniqueness. Aftermarket components accepted. (Example: Photo Etched, Resin, Machined parts, Decals, etc). No pre- built models. J-10 DIECAST– STOCK: Any type of diecast vehicle is permitted. (Stock, Race, Custom, Commercial, Trucks, etc.) Vehicle must be built from a Diecast kit or a manufacturer’s pre-built vehicle. Repairing flaws such as seams and sink marks permitted. Instructions for model preferred. Entry built only by the entrant. B-2 STREET MACHINE/STREET ROD/PRO STREET : Choice of body, engine, treaded tires, exhaust system with mufflers and built for performance. Slicks are acceptable if included in kit. For Pro Street: Wheel tubs, treaded tires unless noted, roll bar, seat belts or harness, exhaust with mufflers, and the wheel tubs must enclose the tires between the body and frame. B-3 LOWRIDER/CUSTOM: Custom style car/truck utilizing low profile treaded tires. B-4 COMMERCIAL (Heavy/Light) : Entries include Deliveries, pickups, cars, etc. used for a business (business name MUST be on vehicle). Includes light emergency vehicles (Police, ambulance, light wrecker, etc. or Factory stock or job-specific truck, van, or bus with a 10,000 lb. minimum gross vehicle weight intended for commercial use (i.e. 18 Wheelers, Tractors, and Fire Trucks) B-5 COMPETITION Open and Closed Wheel : Open Wheel: No fenders, all body styles and engines (i.e. Indy cars, Sprint, Super Modified, Dragster, Altered, etc.) Closed Wheel: Full fender cars like (NASCAR, IMSA, GTO, GTU, ASA, DRAG, etc.) B-6 MISCELLANEOUS : Diorama, motorcycle, small scale, anything not covered by any other class. B-7 DIECAST-STOCK : Any type of diecast vehicle is permitted. (Stock, Race, Custom, Commercial, Trucks, etc.) Vehicle must be built from a Diecast kit or a manufacturer’s pre-built vehicle.
