First Impressions

Dr. Michael Solomon of New York University did a study of First Impressions.

As a result of that famous study, Dr. Solomon says that people form 11 (many of us manke many more than eleven) conclusions about one another in the first 7-seconds of contact.

Before we open our mouths, people have made unconscious decisions about your:  Education level

 Economic level

 Credibility

 Trustworthiness

 Sophistication level

 Sexual Identification

 Political Affiliation

 Lever of Success

 Religious Background

 Ethnic Background

 Desirability, socially, professionally, and sexually

An article in Psychology Today, titled, “Dress for Effect” made another point, “First Impressions tend to persist even in light of later evidence to the contrary” Powerful associations that are made before a person even opens their mouth.

What impression do YOU make!?!
