Beginning with A1A, a “Jimmy Buffet Tribute” on the first Friday followed on Saturday by a fantastic show featuring last years’ Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Winner, “Shawn Klush”. Shawn will perform a solo concert for our fair this year, once again to the sound of the Dan Lentino Band and the Fabulous Ambassadors Band with back up vocals provided by the Jordanaires! You do not want to miss this ticketed event. We will have great gospel music with the Legacy Five on Wednesday and Roy Fox and the Fox Brothers on Sunday. Stay tuned for more entertainment news.
And A little More Country Jeanne Pruett has, once again, packaged a wonderful musical event for our Grand Ole' Country Nite, August 6, 2008, for the Williamson County Fair presented by Tractor Supply Company. The show will begin at 7:00 p.m. on the Main Stage of the Ag Expo Park inside the air-conditioned arena.
The Grand Ole Opry staff band, back-up singers and the Main Stage Square Dancers will be joined by Miss Jeannie Seely and Jimmy C. Newman, both Grand Ole' Opry regulars. Johnny Counterfeit will be on hand to tickle your funny bone with his special brand of humor. Jeannie Pruett will emcee the show and, as she says, "keep the train on the track". Invite a friend!! Public Relations Kerri Hudson, our chairman of the WCF Public Relations committee, would remind all volunteers that she is actively promoting the fair throughout the county and would appreciate any help from anyone. On April 26th and 27th, we will have a booth at the Main Street festival and in May, we will be part of the Franklin Rodeo parade. Call Kerri or Rex if you want to spend some quality time supporting and promoting the 2008 Williamson County Fair. Look for us at the May 27th, 2008 Chamber Membership meeting. The Red, White, and Blue Fair is everywhere!
Vendors & Concessionaires for 2008 How do we pay for the 2008 Williamson County Fair??!! It does cost money to run a fair as great as this one so we have to reach out in all directions. We sell lots of tickets (thanks Sadie and Brenda). We have generous sponsors that help us out tremendously (you too, Shawn). AND we also sell booth space for vendors and concessions. This is a great way for local businesses to reach out to the Williamson County community. Maybe your neighbor has a business on the side or your workplace wants to increase exposure to several THOUSAND perspective customers. Invite them to join our 2008 Red, White, and Blue Ribbon Fair. Lisa can be reached at (615) 838-6977 [email protected] for information.
Wilson Herbert BBQ Contest When was the last time you tried old fashion BBQ. The kind that fills the air with hickory smoke that makes your mouth water! On Saturday, August 2, the Williamson County Fair will invite the counties best “smokers” and “grillers” to compete for top honors and bragging rights for a year. A cash prize of $1,000 does not hurt at all. How about your civic group, your church men’s (or women’s) group, maybe even your local mom and pop restaurant? It’s open to everyone that resides in Williamson County. Give Robbie Beal or Rex a call and let’s see who can “BBQ” the best ribs and chicken in the county.
Sponsors
Every year since our inception, Williamson Medical Center has been proud to be a major sponsor of the Williamson County Fair presented by Tractor Supply Company. Again this year, along with being the sponsor of the Main Stage, Williamson Medical Center will also provide the Fair with our Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) staff. Since their initial treatment of patients in Williamson County and the surrounding areas since 1958, Williamson Medical Center has constantly been driven by the desire to provide care, to show compassion, and to help neighbors. We thank Williamson Medical Center for their commitment to both the Fair and Williamson County and are proud to call them a partner!
For the third consecutive year, we are proud to have Consociate • Dansig back as a corporate partner of the Williamson County Fair presented by Tractor Supply Company and the Presenting Sponsor of ‘Government Employee Day’. A note from Commissioner Judy Hayes as to why she thinks the Williamson County Fair is Important!
“I think the fair is important because it showcases the pride, the beauty, and the diversity of our county in a very positive way. From the cultural arts to the varying styles of music to the strong emphasis on education for the young and old, this fair features the best of Williamson County. We have so much to be proud of in our county with the rich agriculture heritage, the superb quality of life, and the overall abundance of talented and skilled people. The Williamson County Fair will brings it all together.”
Our Next Meeting is May 27th. Come Join us at the Ag Expo Park at 4:00 PM.
