1. GRADING: The course grade is based on the weighted average of the daily exams and the final exam. Letter grades will be assigned on the basis of A = 100-93%, A- = 92-90%, B+ = 89-88, B = 87-83%, B- = 82-80%, C+ = 79-78%, C = 77-73%, C- = 72-70%, D+ = 69-68%, D = 67-60%, F = 59-0%. Grades are not subject to negotiation.

2. DAILY EXAMS: There will be 18 daily exams. Each exam will have 6-7 questions and will be worth 20 points. The exam will cover the material presented in the previous lecture and in the assigned reading and homework. Each exam will begin at exactly 10:00 am and will last approximately 10 minutes. THERE WILL BE NO MAKE-UP EXAMS. You will be allowed to drop the two lowest daily exam scores in figuring your grade. If you must miss class for any reason the absence will count as one of your lowest scores.

3. HOMEWORK: Homework will not be collected. It is expected that you will work appropriate problems in the text. Suggested homework is included in your companion text. You should appreciate how important working homework problems is to doing well in this class.

4. FINAL EXAM: The final exam will be given on Friday, August 6, from 10:00 - 12:00 noon. It will be comprehensive and cover Chapters 14 - 24 in your text.

5. OFFICE HOURS: The instructor will be available on campus in the morning before lecture. Normally he will arrive before 8:00 am.
