VI. Programming: Please briefly describe the educational objectives for your major programs.

Program Title: Enhance Ornamental and Turf Production Target Audience: Nursery through Grower Education Growers Describe program objectives:1 At least 5 ornamental growers will sign the Notice of Intent to Comply with Best management practices. At the end of BMP Workshops, 80% will have increased their knowledge of Best Management Practices as measured by pretests and post tests. 2 At least 50 horticulture industry professionals will attend the Quarterly Pesticide Trainings. 90% of those taking the Pesticide License Tests will pass the tests and be eligible to obtain their licenses. Objectives are evaluated by agent observation, post-seminar questionnaires and follow up/personal interviews conducted by the agent.

Program Title: Assisting with Homeowner Horticulture Target Audience: Florida residents, newcomers to Florida, Master Gardener Volunteers Describe program objectives: Extension educational programs will lead to increased knowledge of master Gardeners who can pass the knowledge to homeowners in Manatee County who will be able to maintain their landscapes while conserving water and water quality.

Program Title: 4H and Youth Horticulture Target Audience: 4H Members, School Age Youth, FFA Members Describe program objectives: Extension education programs will teach youth about horticulture and how to grow plants properly. The quality of the plants entered by youth into the FNGLA Plant Show and Sale will improve, compared to the quality of the plants in past years. Youth will gain an appreciation for growing plants.

Program Title: Field Work on new Palm Disease Target Audience: Growers and Homeowners Describe program objectives: We are working to determine the extent of spread of TPPD and ways to determine early when a palm is infected. We are trapping to try to determine the local vector of TPPD.
