I. Call to Order Co-Chair Janel Olson called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m.

III. Introduction of Guest(s) No Guests. IV. Approval of Minutes Action A. December 5, 2003 Secretary Urain moved to approve the December 5, 2003 Community Service minutes. Senator Phillips seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

V. Approval of Agenda Action Senator Sandall moved to approve the agenda for the current meeting, Senator Gray seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

VI. Big Horn Pantry Report Action/Information

A.Elko Senator Sandall reported that the Big Horn Pantry is fully-stocked. She thanked Senator Olson and Volunteer Ann Jayo for assisting her on the shopping trip, Wednesday, February 18, 2004.

B.Battle Mountain No report from Battle Mountain. VII. New Business Action/Information

A.Battle Mountain-Easter Egg Hunt No Report

B.Ely-Easter Egg Hunt No Report

C.Winnemucca-Easter Egg Hunt Secretary Urain stated that in Winnemucca they have attempted work with the local Kiwanis to assist with their Easter Egg Hunt.

D.Elko-Easter Egg Hunt Senator Sandall volunteered to chair the Elko Easter Egg Hunt, to be held at the Child Care Center. She stated she would find out the dates and times involved. Additional volunteered would be needed to stuff the plastic eggs, as well as the days of the actual Easter Egg Hunts. President Houk stated that there was a $500 cap used for last year’s event. VIII. Event Planning Action/Information

Discussion was opened for suggestions on some other activities for this spring semester. Senator Olson suggested that all the campuses plan visits to the Senior Citizens or Retirement Centers. She will gather information and report back at the next meeting.

President Houk recommended that we do something for “Earth Day” at all of the campuses. Activities might include a campus clean-up, planting a tree or some grass. Senator Long volunteered to find out when “Earth Day” was and report back.

Senator Long stated that she would email the outlying campuses for their suggestions.

Senator Long recommended that a voter registration be held. Senator Phillips stated that she is involved with a project planned for the Fall Semester that would do a voter registration on campus. Senator Phillips commented that additional help would be needed.

Another suggestion was made to read at the Child Care Center sometime this semester. Senator Sandall volunteered to gather information on dates and times that would work with the schedule at the Child Care Center.

X. Issues and Concern/Public Comment Senator Sandall inquired on whether there would be a meeting on Friday, March 19th. President Houk responded that he did not think that there would be one.

At the call of the President, public comments shall be heard by the SGA. Upon proper request students, faculty, administration, and the public shall be granted the floor by the President. Please note that due to time restrictions the President reserves the right and authority to place a time limit of public comment in the compliance with NRS 241.020 (2) © (3). XI. Adjournment Senator Sandall moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:25 p.m. Secretary Urain seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
