MEDFORD ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (EAAC) MEETING MINUTES

Tuesday May 23, 2017

I. Roll Call 7:00 PM Jennifer, Bruce, Andrea, Deborah, Chip, Beth and Matthew in attendance.

II. Review/approve minutes of March Meeting Reviewed minutes from March meeting. No changes requested or identified. Note: there was no meeting held in April.

III. Public Comments None.

IV. Old Business  Arbor Day Event/Tree City Beth, Bruce and Chip attended the event at the Kirby Mill school. A tree city banner was presented by the Committee to the mayor. A dogwood tree donated by Medford Leas was planted on the school property. Entertainment was provided by fifth grade students.  Clean Communities/Town Yard Sale Day Members of the Committee manned a booth to provide information about the activities of the Committee and to give out seedling trees.  ROSI Clearance The submittal has been delayed by the Township. The Committee will update it after it has been submitted.  DEP/Map Plan Reevaluation of heavy vehicles continues. Some trails may be reopened.

V. New Business  Goals and Objectives – 2017

 ROSI Open Space Reconciliation Submittal has been postponed due to township filing. The next step will be to amend the submittal to include the Centennial Lakes properties identified in 2016. After that additional properties will be identified for inclusion, starting with larger properties.

 Hartford Crossing Mountain Bike Park – Matt A boy scout Eagle Scout project to install a bridge has been completed. A second bridge is scheduled for Saturday June 3 or June 10. Trail paving is now going to be sent out for bids, using additional funds provided by the Township. For National Trails Day a table will be provided at the park entrance to answer questions and to dispense maps. Bruce volunteered to attend.

 NJ Sustainability Plan – Dan/Matt There was no discussion due to Dan’s absence.

 Other New Business - None

VI. Zoning Considerations  Taunton Forge development continues.  Construction of the new Dunkin Donuts on Rte 541 is delayed due to traffic concerns  Construction is under way on the new Republic Bank

VII. Upcoming Meetings  Monthly Meetings: June 27 July 25 August 22 September 26 October 24 November 28 December – combined with annual Holiday Party
