2017 Poster Proposal Form

Thank you for preparing a proposal for the 2017 Annual Conference in Los Angeles. On this page you will be asked to provide a title and abstract, learning objectives, and the main topics that you will cover in your poster. After the December 12 deadline, review teams will review the proposals based on a set of criteria. Notifications regarding your proposal status will be sent by late- February. The Annual Conference Committee thanks you for contributing your time and knowledge to craft this proposal.

Poster Fair Theme 1. 1. * Please select the poster fair theme that best suits your poster topic. Please visit the Poster Fair website for more detailed descriptions of each fair.

Be sure to select your theme carefully as it will be important that your poster fits into the description of the theme. You may select only one per proposal.

Titles should briefly identify the content and audience, and be able give a clear idea of what will be presented.

3. * Please enter the poster abstract which will appear on the conference website if your proposal is selected. (200 character maximum, about 30 words)

Abstracts should clearly and concisely identify what will be presented and who the audience should be. Please write your abstract in the present tense. Abstract:

Poster Content 4. * What will learners know (learning objectives) and be able to do as a result of your poster? View the Call for Proposals for tips on creating learning objectives. (400 character maximum, about 60 words) Answer:

5. * What material do you expect to put on the poster, and what kind of documents/handouts/takeaways do you plan to provide? How will you effectively achieve the learning objectives through the presentation of this poster, your discussion with the visitors, and the takeaways? (600 character maximum, about 90 words) Answer: Presenter Policy After saving your proposal below, you will be prompted to add presenters for your poster. A poster presentation should have no more than two presenters total. It is imperative that all presenters fill out the required questions on the presenter profile. You will be unable to submit your proposal without complete biographical information from all listed presenters. Please note that you may submit as many poster proposals as you would like; however, it is the policy of the Annual Conference Committee that individuals present in no more than two poster sessions per conference.

Noncommercial Policy NAFSA education programs at the annual conference are learning experiences and are noncommercial. Under no circumstances should a preconference workshop, general conference session, or poster presentation be used for direct promotion of a speaker's product, service, or other self-interest.

Before You Submit  Does the biographical information you listed in your profile support your proposal and demonstrate your expertise in the topic?  Does the title communicate what your poster is about and who should attend?

 Does your abstract support what your poster is about? Additional Information Poster proposals must be submitted by Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. (EST).

Be sure to save a copy of your proposal in case of a submission glitch with the system.
