Kingswoods Adventure Centre Isle of Wight

Y6 Residential Trip 11 th – 15 th September Kingswoods Adventure Centre – Isle of Wight

Kit List and important information

All essential activity and safety equipment is provided, but the children will need personal clothing, footwear and washing kit. Bearing in mind the outdoor and active nature of our trip, old, casual and easily-washable clothes are strongly recommended. Jeans are impractical as they provide no warmth when wet and are difficult to dry.

Bedding is provided at the centre

Suggested packing list recommended by Kingswood Adventure Centre:

Below is a list of things you’ll need to pack along with a few non-essential but useful items!  Toiletries etc. (please note deodorants must be roll-on, no aerosols).  Clothes, shoes and underwear. For many activity sessions closed-toed shoes, long-sleeved t-shirts and trousers are required (these are required for nearly all sessions, so bring plenty.) We recommend wearing old clothes for activity sessions.  Waterproof clothing (jacket, trousers and wellingtons).  Large plastic bag for dirty clothes.  A bath towel.  Sunglasses, sun cream and hat in summer.  Pyjamas and slippers.  A named water bottle (essential in summer).  Swimming kit.  Light-weight trousers or shorts, t-shirt and old trainers with closed laces that can be used in water-based activities. Useful items:  Money for snacks and souvenirs in our shop.

 Additional information  The children should come to school on Monday 11th September in non-uniform clothing. They will leave school before lunch (they will need a packed lunch) and should return at around 3:30pm (depending on ferry and coach journeys running to time) on Friday 15 September.

 Please limit luggage to one case/bag per child plus one small item of hand luggage.

 Also please note that pupils are not allowed to bring mobile phones. We will provide parents and carers with a phone number should they need to contact us or their children. (Kingswood Adventure Centre - 01983 875353)

 The children should not bring other expensive items which could be easily lost or stolen such as valuable jewellery, expensive cameras or games consoles.

 Please ensure that all belongings are clearly marked with the name of the school, as well as the name of the child. The activity centre takes no responsibility for finding or returning lost property.

 There is a small tuck shop on site that the children will have an opportunity to visit on two occasions. The children should bring no more than £15 in a wallet or purse that can be given to their group leader when they get to the activity centre.

Week beginning 4 th September you will receive a final permission letter asking you to give consent for the trip and the opportunity to highlight any medical or dietary requirements.
