Rules for the Silent Auction The Silent Auction will begin at 7:00 pm and close at 9:15 pm.
Each item has a bidding sheet that describes the item, its value, the minimum opening bid and the minimum bid increment. Items will be sold to the highest bidder.
To Bid: CLEARLY print your name and email address on the bid sheet. If you are the first bidder, you must bid at least the minimum amount specified. If the item already has a bid, you must exceed the previous bid by the minimum bid increment listed on the bid sheet.
To Win: The last, highest bid at the close of the auction is the winner. Your winning bid must be made in the appropriate bid increment; otherwise your bid will be disqualified and the next highest bidder will be declared the winner.
Remember: It is OK to spend more than the merchandise value! Think of it as a donation to our school. All of the items have been donated to the auction so everything you spend goes directly to PTA programs for our Chatsworth kids.
BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND: NEXT-DAY CHECK OUT FOR ALL AUCTION ITEMS AT CHATSWORTH! (Fri, 3/25, 8:15-4:00)
No more waiting at the end of evening. Now, you can enjoy Parents’ Night Out and wait to check out the following day. Stop by the Sally Foster Room, the alcove next to the auditorium (on Forest Park Ave) to pay for and pick up your items. And, for an extra $5.00, we will even deliver your items to your home. Be sure to make arrangements when you are making your payment. Failure to pay in full within 5 business days will result in the next highest bidder becoming the winner.
Payment is by CASH or CHECK, made out to Chatsworth Avenue PTA.
The Silent Auction Committee has made every attempt to describe items accurately. Items are sold “as is” with noted restrictions, and without warranty or representation of any kind as to the correctness of description, authenticity, or condition. All written bids are binding and all sales are final. All items have been donated to the Chatsworth Avenue PTA and are sold by it and not the donor. Purchasers may not ask for refunds or exchanges from any donor.
It is the responsibility of the successful bidder to contact the donor to make arrangements for delivery of goods and services (i.e. a mutually convenient time and date). Unless otherwise specified, all items purchased representing goods and services to be provided by third party donors must be redeemed no later than August 31, 2012.
Federal Tax Law states that the portion of your auction bid that exceeds the value of the item is the only tax-deductible part of your contribution.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR SCHOOL. HAVE FUN!
