The purpose of this committee is to allow younger members an opportunity to serve the community and be an integral part of the Humble Rodeo and BBQ Cook-Off’s contribution to the Education Foundation, Humble ISD, agriculture, and entertainment. Students will volunteer at the BBQ cook-off and Rodeo by setting up, hanging banners, helping guests, and assisting various committees.

The participant must meet the following qualifications: Grades in good standing (A’s, B’s or C’s) Conduct in good standing (no office referrals or detention) Shows leadership and admirable character Attend the Humble Rodeo and BBQ Cook-Off on Friday, February 3rd; Saturday, February 4th; Thursday, February 9th; Friday, February 10th; and Saturday, February 11th (shifts will be scheduled for students to work at the above events at a later date-we will work with your schedule but you need to be available to volunteer at least three of the five dates.
Important Dates: o January 6th- Applications are due to your club or organization sponsor o January 13th- Junior Rodeo Committee Selections will be announced. Applicants will be contacted by phone by either Ms. Norton or Ms. Norris. o January 20th at 5:30 p.m. - first JRC committee meeting (will last approximately one hour) o Humble Rodeo and BBQ Cook-Off on Friday, February 3rd; Saturday, February 4th; Thursday, February 9th; Friday, February 10th; and Saturday, February 11th Junior Rodeo Committee Teacher Permission Form
Students: Please give this to your teachers if you plan on joining the Junior Rodeo Committee. Teachers need time to fill out the following form and return it to you.
Student must have excellent attendance and conduct. If a student has excellent conduct please mark an “E”, if a student has satisfactory conduct please mark an “S”, if a student has unsatisfactory conduct please mark a “U”. Student must have a 70 grade average or above in core classes such as English, Math, Science, and History (please mark P for above 70 and NP for below 70). Student must be able to participate in after school meetings and attend Rodeo and Cook- Off.

Your student has the exciting opportunity to be part of the 2011-12 Humble Rodeo and BBQ Cook-Off Junior Rodeo Committee (or JRC). The requirements listed below must be met for your student to be eligible.
Student must have excellent attendance and conduct grades. Student must have a 70 average or above in each subject area (i.e. Math, Science, Reading, Social Studies, electives). Student must be able to attend the meeting on January 20th at 5:30 and the Humble Rodeo and BBQ Cook-Off on Friday, February 3rd; Saturday, February 4th; Thursday, February 9th; Friday, February 10th; and Saturday, February 11th (three of the five days at least) Students must have their parent complete the bottom portion.
