Fitness Gym Class Descriptions

ABS: (All levels) Work your abs to the max in this express class. Use core movements including isometrics, exercise balls, bender balls, mats and glides. Advanced Yoga- Take your Yoga practice to the next level. This class places an emphasis on deepening awareness of the body and understanding of alignment principles. Knowledge of the basic poses is assumed, with posture variations and breathing practices to help you deepen your experience All levels YOGA- (All levels) "Practice and all is coming!" Come challenge yourself with this Vinyasa style yoga class whether you want to stay basic or advance your practice. Arms & Abs- (All levels) Feel the burn by enjoying this express class focusing on defining your arms and abs ABS & Stretch: (All levels)- Concentrated abdominal and back work, followed by a deep stretch. Beginner YOGA- (Beginner) Enjoy sun salutations, warrior series, and peak poses. Just let yourself breathe in breath out and focus on your present through uniting your body, mind and spirit. Bodyworks- (All levels) A combination of traditional body sculpting methods using free weights, resistance bands, and your own body with bursts of cardio mixed in. Total body workout sure to make you sweat. Bootcamp- (Intermediate, Advanced) Work your body to the max with strength, cardio & core all in one. Bottoms up- (All levels) Strong glutes play a functional role in body alignment. When glutes are weak, we fall out of balance forcing other muscles to do more than they should. This could lead to ankle, knee, hip or back problems. The total focus is on the glutes using bands, dumbbells, balls and body bars. PLUS….who doesn’t want to improve their bottom line? Chair YOGA- (Beginner) Improve your health through an amazing form of adaptive exercise. Regardless of your age, level of activity and physical challenges, you will derive wonderful benefits from participating in Chair Yoga. Change it Up: (All levels) Full body workout that combines plyometrics, cardio intervals and various equipment including medicine balls, bars, dumbbells, bands, tubes, BOSU and Bender balls. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training): (Intermediate, Advanced)- Enjoy this form of cardio exercise by alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods. Pilates Blend (30-min) (All levels) Enjoy Pilates breathing and movements fused with Yoga. Strength Training- (All levels) focus on a full body strength training program. We use a variety of equipment including hand weights, body bars, resistance tubing and or steps. We vary the routine each week. Stretch-(Beginner, Intermediate) - All over body stretch to relieve muscle tightness and promote joint mobility. Use of foam rollers, stretch straps, and mats assist the body in various positions. Positions will be held for 20 - 30 seconds to enhance flexibility. Strong Women: ($40 for 12-week session for non-members; free to members) - This 12-week strength-training program is specifically for midlife and older women and geared towards those with osteoporosis or osteopenia. Learn to increase your strength, bone density, balance, and energy. This program is geared to strengthen your muscles, improve the integrity of your bones, and improve balance, coordination, and mobility. (Sessions run quarterly January, April, July & October) Total Body express- (All Levels) Get the most out of your lunch break and take this 30 minute total body strength and sculpting class. Use various types of equipment to work all muscle groups and feel rejuvenated for the rest of your busy day! ZUMBA- (All levels) a Latin inspired fitness class featuring Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia and Regaeton dance movements. ZUMBA is a party, have fun! Zumba Toy box- now's your chance to come show off some of your favorite dance moves in this innovative circuit style dance class with circuits utilizing, BOSUs, exercise balls, tubing, weights, glides etc...

Gentle Movement – This is a great option for those who may not be interested in or capable of engaging in a strenuous workout. This class incorporates different forms of gentle movement & breathing techniques and is open to all regardless of physical limitation. Tai Chi - This ancient form of movement is designed to enhance health, relaxation, balance, flexibility & strength. Practiced daily and properly, these gentle yet powerful exercises promote mental tranquility, improve physical fitness, and increase circulation. Tai Chi for Parkinson’s: This class uses a simplified Tai Chi form geared specifically for people dealing with Parkinson's. Registration and Physician’s Clearance are required. (Additional fee) .
