Bookstore The Bookstore offers a wide variety of items including textbooks, clothing, cards, office supplies, snacks, and gift items. All employees, including part-time but excluding students may receive a Discount on most purchases through the Bookstore upon presentation of their employee ID card.
Campus Activities All employees and their immediate families will be admitted to campus athletic activities and special events upon presentation of the Schreiner employee identification card. Most campus activities will be at no charge to the employee.
Campus Facilities All campus facilities are available, within the customary guidelines for their use and cost if applicable, to all of Schreiner's employees and their immediate families. These facilities include: William Logan Library, computer lab, the chapel, post office, bookstore and dining hall. The recreational resources include the Mountaineer Fitness Center and Lion’s Den game room, tennis courts, intramural sports field, and supervised sport facilities – including basketball, racquetball courts, weight room, soccer field, and track, along with the swimming pool. The facilities and resources are available to employees and their immediate family members if the facilities are not in use for instruction, intercollegiate athletic team games, team practice, or intramural activities. Restrictions may apply regarding usage. Employees should check with Campus Recreation for additional details. Schreiner University students have the right of first use on all recreational facilities.
Campus Minister As a church-related institution, Schreiner University is concerned about the total welfare of its employees. If an employee suffers family, marital, emotional, financial or spiritual crises, the Campus Minister is available to offer pastoral counseling or to refer individuals to others for help, make hospital calls, perform funerals and weddings; and to carry out other pastoral responsibilities.
Computer Lab All employees and their immediate family are welcome to use the Computer Lab, located in the William Logan Library. The Student Computer Support Center 2(SC) is a free computer repair service offered through Instructional Technology to Schreiner students, faculty and staff. 2(SC) employs technology majors to perform the following services: general computer maintenance; updates, defrag, program installs, etc.; virus and other malware removal; data backup and recovery; hardware replacement consulting; and more to fit your IT needs. Computers are accepted for repair between 11 am and 3 pm.
Food Service Dining Hall Chartwells offers a pre-pay plan called the Faculty5. Faculty and Staff can pay $30.00 (price subject to change in Fall) to pre-pay for 5 meals. Credit for meals can be carried from the Fall Semester to the Spring Semester. Just bring your ID card to the diner office when you pay and your meal plan will be loaded onto your card. Bringing a guest with you? Swipe your card twice.
Lion’s Den All employees are welcome to provide patronage to the Lion’s Den snack bar located in the Cailloux Campus Activity Center.
William Logan Library Logan Library provides information resources and services in support of the University’s educational program. The Library has over 83,000 volumes and subscribes to over 200+ periodical subscriptions, 100+ online databases (38 full text), over 10,000 online journals, and over 30,000 e-books. The Library also houses a modest video collection and a small, current best seller selection. Employees will need their University ID card to check out Library materials. Other Library information plus access to the online catalog and electronic resources are available on the Logan Library website: http://library.schreiner.edu.
