INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENROLLING IN A SAN JOSE CITY COLLEGE COURSE AT LELAND
IMPORTANT: Requesting a SJCC class through Leland High School does not grant enrollment. To enroll in a SJCC course, students must complete the following mandatory steps:
1. Submit an application for admissions to SJCC via CCC Apply at http://www.sjcc.edu/future-students/apply-now You should receive an email confirmation that your application is being processed within 24 hours. Within 48 hours you should receive a SJCC student ID number. (If you do not receive an SJCC student ID number within this time frame, contact SJCC Admissions at 408-288- 3700). 2. All students must complete an Assessment Test. You must have an SJCC student ID number before scheduling testing appointment. Call 408-288-3170 to schedule a testing appointment. 3. Submit a R-40 form, complete with parent and Leland administrator signatures to Admissions & Records to register for a class. You must bring the signed R40 form to SJCC when you take your assessment test. Pick-up an R-40 form in the Counseling & Resource Center at Leland or download it from the Leland Academic Counseling website under Forms. Get R-40 form signed by Mr. Craycroft or Mr. Park High school students may only take one course per term. ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS MUST REGISTER IN PERSON AT SAN JOSE CITY COLLEGE ADMISSIONS & RECORDS OFFICE.
4. Leland does not automatically receive San Jose City College grades. In order for the course grade to be added to the student’s Leland transcript, students must request an official transcript from San Jose City College and turn it in to Karen Johnson (Registrar at Leland). Here is the link with instructions on how to order transcripts from San Jose City College: http://www.sjcc.edu/current-students/on-campus-resources/admissions- and-records-office/transcripts
We recommended that student’s request and turn in a San Jose City College transcript as soon as final grades are posted to ensure that credits are added to their Leland transcript in a timely manner.
