HUMAN RESOURCES CONSULTANT (Hiring at either entry or senior level) Location: Sacramento, CA (potential to work remotely) Pay ranges: $64,991-$81,238 Entry; $81,238-$101,548 Senior THE POSITION CPS HR Consulting seeks an experienced public sector Human Resources professional to join our team of dedicated, enthusiastic, and solution focused consultants responsible for supporting the Merit System Services Program contract. The incumbent will develop and maintain business partner relationships with California counties and other public agencies, work on special projects, and provide direct recruitment, selection, and classification services to clients, demonstrating a deep understanding of foundational HR concepts and functions. This position will be filled at either the entry, or the senior level, depending upon experience.
TYPICAL JOB FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to: . Provide consultative services to clients on matters including classification, recruitment and selection, and job analysis; including effective recruitment strategies for a variety of positions. . Construct all types of employment exams and rating guidelines. . Prepare detailed narrative and technical reports and conduct classification studies. . Compile and analyze information, identify creative alternatives, and make sound recommendations. . Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Social Services and Child Support Services Departments in California counties; as well as, other agencies, coworkers, and applicants. . Serve as an effective project manager on a variety of projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION (Entry and senior levels): Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field. Candidates who do not possess a bachelor’s degree as described, may substitute relevant professional public sector human resources experience (entry level only).
EXPERIENCE (Senior level): At least two years of professional experience, in the public sector, in the HR functional areas mentioned under Typical Job Functions above. Experience with counties in California is highly desired.
Must be able to build and maintain effective professional relationships, be adaptable, and make outstanding customer service a top priority. Knowledge of public agency human resources management practices and the methods of data collection and analysis is highly desired. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required. There will be limited required travel to various counties within California.
