INITIAL EXPECTATIONS / RULES ______1. Students will respect themselves and others including each other’s property. Students may not talk or make any unnecessary noises. General orders are in the student handbook. ______2. Violence of any kind will not be tolerated. Verbal or physical abuse of another student or staff or walking off campus will result in alternative consequences. Cussing is a form of verbal assault. Threats are taken seriously. Students will obey all request of SAC staff the 1st time. Note writing and note passing are not allowed. ______3. Students will attend class daily (8:00 AM – 3:30 PM) Absence are unexcused unless a Doctor’s note or court document is provided. Tardies are unexcused & Physical training will be assigned for all tardies See attached regarding absences. ______4. Short-Term students will complete their assigned days. ______5. Students must check in cell phones and keys in the office while at SAC. All other items and/or electronic devices are prohibited and will be confiscated and returned to parent only. A photo will be taken and placed in the student’s folder. Medication must be labeled and left at the office. ______6. Student may need to use a computer for school related work. I have read the internet rules in my Student Handbook. Student has permission to use the computer/ Internet (YES / NO) ______7. POSITIVE BEHAVIOR WILL BE REWARDED. Minimum expectations for long term: 90% attendance, no discipline referrals, pass 3 courses (Middle School) or earn 1.5 credits (High School) ______8. Students that do not comply with S.A.C. Rules will be assigned to the Extended Day Program 8:00 a.m.-6:00p.m. without parent. Failure to comply with this assignment will constitute further disciplinary action and truancy notification with the attendance court. Parent will be required to attend with their child. ______9. Transportation must be arranged with parents. Students may be dropped off and picked up or ride the bus. STUDENTS NOT PICKED UP BY 3:40PM WILL RIDE THE BUS. NO EXCEPTIONS. Parents must authorize transportation and any changes. ______10. Dress Code: All Short-Term students will wear a plain white T-shirt and appropriate fitting shorts or pants. Females are not allowed to wear colored undergarments. SHIRTS WILL BE TUCKED IN AND A BELT IS REQUIRED. ______11. Uniforms will be issued to Long-Term students. Parents/students will be responsible for the serviceability and return of uniform. DO NOT write on or alter the uniform in any manner. Prices for unreturned uniforms are: Pants - $15.00 - Belts - $7.00 – T-shirts $5.00- Sweatshirt-$7.00 ______12. Grooming Standards: Girls & Boys – Students may not wear make-up, false nails, or nail polish and nails must be no longer than ¼ inch over fingertip. SHORT TERM-hair must not touch ears, eyebrows, or collar. Hair will be uniform in length and must be natural color. LONG TERM-S.A.C.Hair Standards. Girls must wear hair pulled straight back in a bun, no parting. Black or White scrunchies only. TATOOS – Any profane or gang identification tattoos are expected to be covered up. Parent request that SAC adjust hair to within standards. (YES / NO) Military hair cut required. ______13. SEARCHES - Students will be screened by a metal detector on a daily basis. Students are fully responsible for the contents of the assigned desks. Searches of desks and possessions may be conducted any time there is reasonable cause. Students are subject to audio and visual monitoring at all times. Lunch is provided by HCISD (Full / Free / Reduced ) ______14. Physical training will be assigned. Medical Notes:______15. Sp. Ed.?
