Context: The Indian mutual fund industry is undergoing a metamorphosis with y-o-y growth of 47% during 2009-10. India needs international best practices to manage the growth. Can Luxembourg help?

Speakers: Mr. A. Balasubramaniam, CEO, Birla Sunlife Asset Management Company, India. He has over 19 years experience in Capital markets. Under his leadership, the company has won awards for delivering the best performance from CRISIL TV18, BNP Paribas, ICRA and Reuter Lipper. He has been a committee member of the Association of Mutual Funds of India and also of the Securities and Exchange Board of India.

Mr. Rafael Aguilera is nominated expert from ALFI on cross-border Asset Management initiatives. He has over 10 years experience in the Luxembourg financial and asset management industry within the areas of product development, registration and multi-channel distribution of investment funds. Rafael is also co-chairman of the working group on simplified notification procedure within UCITS IV and a Director at Deloitte.

The discussions will be moderated by Mr. John Parkhouse, Asset Management Leader, PwC.
