DUNCHURCH FESTIVAL GROUP Minutes of the meeting held on 9th January 2017 17.30 hrs. at Dunchurch Village Hall, Rugby Road, Dunchurch

Chairs Report Thank you to Keith Protheroe for aquiring the donation of glasses from Sainsbury’s Rob Panto from all reports went very well and all who attended thought good fun and was good to have in village. Well done all. Mike to feed back on.

Mikes report. Events Report Structurally excellent show, attracted new cast, which we would like to keep, very well written, good turnout, dancing & choreography excellent, lots of fun and it worked well including the local young people and children, good for team work, young adults learn about responsibility, themselves and grow in personality and confidence. Lots of credit to Sue Protheroe for the outstanding writing and she is currently in the process of writing a new pantomime. People have said it is the best Panto ever done by Pantomaniacs. Congratulations to Sue from all Committee. Thank you letters have been received from Dunchurch band and the Hope 4 homeless charity. Difibrillator purchase and training :-

Correspondence Wendy Collings had received training at her Fiona place of work on defibrillators. The gentleman that provided the training is willing to come to the meeting on the 20th March 2017 at 7.30pm to give advice and answer our questions and concerns. He has also agreed to do one free training session should we go ahead. If you want to know more and have questions please come along to the next meeting. We do need to be fully informed to progress with this. Nick to contact Parish Council to invite them to attend. The funds stand at £10,027.04. The committee has been approached by the Save Dunchurch action group who have asked if we could temporarily keep the donations they receive until the get a bank account organised? Nick Treasures Report This has been agreed by the auditors and the committee. Fiona The Quiz Friday 3rd March Fiona to sort float for the raffle and bar float. The bar and glasses sorted by Pete, Prizes Wendy to sort and also the snacks If anyone would like to donate some Raffle prizes they will be gratefully received. Events There are 6 teams booked already. Price list to be re done by Carina and laminated. Set up will be from 5pm The event will start at Fiona 7.30hrs Graham the quiz master to organise the heads Pete and tails game again. Wendy Keith protheroe to donate left over prizes from the pantomime for the quiz. Band night 19th May 'Hard Ride' playing rock night at the village hall. Another band 'Rock Age' from Rugby High School may also be appearing, Rob Carina waiting for them to respond. Progressive supper Date in diary 10th June please contact Fiona re All taking part.

Fete JUNE 17th Lots of exhibitors have replied Road closure signs along with Dunchurch fete signs need to be sorted. Rob Road closures - Nick has started progressing this already, he will also contact Tom re the sound system. Risk Assessment Mike has contacted the go karting company. Circus skills to be contacted. Face painting - any volunteers welcome to help. Insurance to be sorted for proper floats Fiona has contacted the insurance company will chase, as not had a quote from them. Edward Knight has offered to sponsor something at the village fete. Nick Jones to give him chairs number to discuss. Festival trade Stall on website 4-booked already. Rob/Barbara Please contact Fiona or Rob if you are interested in having a stall or know anyone who is. Nick Photography association has been contacted to see if they are interested in displaying some pictures. The new gallery in the village and the Wendy flooring shop to be contacted re sponsorship or supporting the event. Possibility of having a Donald Trump coconut stall? Rob Barbara to be contacted re the posters and publicity for events WI Event -Live and Local event is on at the WI Fiona HALL in the village 'Hickory Dickery Murder' a murder mystery evening, contact Dunchurch WI for information.

All organisations need to be contacted about Nick their stalls and contributions to the event Jenny Trewren to be asked about baking cakes and any other organisations who would like to donate cakes, these would be most helpful. Variety Evening - 'Old time variety evening'- date to be confirmed. Easter egg Hunt - Sandy in the post office to be asked to accept and distribute the egg hunt details, entry forms. Nick Jones asked to publicise the Rugby Charity Ball for Cancer at the Dunchurch Park Hotel Boot leg beetles playing at the event, lots of tickets already sold - £67 per ticket 50th anniversary. Rob There is also a quiz on St. Patrick's night at the village to fund raise for local child at the school. Quiz March 3rd

Insurance for the floats to be checked by Fiona Ideas for an Event for November Ghost walk -to be reviewed, safety issues, numbers, format.

Publicity for fete – Get signs made to go with road closure signs
