1. Overview of System Administration

System Administration provides powerful configuration, security, and housekeeping functions for all of TMWSuite. These functions are described on these pages:  Establishing and maintaining user accounts, IDs, and passwords.  Creating and maintaining groups of users.  Permitting or denying access to various programs, functions, and fields.  Editing the label file with user-definable fields to classify data so that it makes sense for the way your company does business.  Requiring data in a field to be within an acceptable range of values.  Defining and editing service regions for operations, marketing, billing, settlement, and reporting functions.  Editing mileage inquiry information.  Setting up unit conversion tables for use in billing and driver payment.  Editing the TTS50.ini file and the General Info Table to set up the system to match the way your company does business.  Granting rights to database objects.

Warning: Access to System Administration should be limited to people with proper training and the authorization to modify how the system operates.

Menus, control keys, and icons

The System Administration menu bar is located at the top of the System Administration screen. Each menu lists commands that allow you to perform tasks within the application. Some tasks also can be initiated using icons, shown in the sheet toolbar, or control keys. Here is a list of menu options, their functions and (if applicable) any related control keys and sheet toolbar icons.

File Print Screen Allows you to print the current screen. Printer Setup Allows you to select the printer to which reports are to print. Exit Allows you to exit System Administration. ALT+F4

Exit and Sign Off Allows you to exit System Administration and log off your TMWSuite database. Quit Allows you to exit System Administration.

Edit Messages Currently not functional. TTS50.INI File Allows you to edit/enter values for all the keys (settings) in the various sections of your TTS50.ini file to fit your operational environment; allows you to compare two TTS50.ini files to determine settings that are missing or different. Label File Allows you to customize field names and option values that appear on various screens to fit your environment. Region Definitions Allows you to create four types of dispatch regions and specify sub-regions for each region. User Profiles Allows you to create or delete system users and set properties such as name, login ID, password, etc. Mileage Inquiry Allows you to look up, add, or modify point-to- (Edit) point mileages. Mileage Verify Compares TMWSuite’s mileage values with those in your third party mileage application. When variances are found, the system updates the TMWSuite mileage database with values returned from the third party mileage database. Group Assigns users to groups to make security setups Maintenance easier. Translation Custom feature. Maintenance

Units Conversion Allows you to set up a table of conversion factors to convert between various units used throughout TMWSuite (e.g., pounds to metric tons). Edit User Security Assigns a RevType1 value to a user group or a (cont.) single user. Currency Sets the exchange rate to convert one currency to Conversion another (e.g., US dollars and Canadian dollars) for a given date range. Trimac Custom feature. Relationships Tax Rate Setup of GST (Goods and Services Tax) and PST Maintenance (Provincial Sales Tax) rates for the Canadian provinces. Global Company Currently not functional. Change GeneralInfo Table Allows you to set system parameters to fit your operational environment. Fuel Charge Types Allows you to record a table of fuel charges types used by the Broker Selection module to calculate average fuel charge pay per carrier. (Broker Selection is an add-on feature.) Interface Custom feature. Constants Maintenance Populate Zip Allows you to quickly create a cross reference table Codes if you use zip codes as company information and if you use ALK as your mileage interface. Define Custom Provides a setup window for user-defined menu Menu options that trigger the execution of external programs from within TMWSuite. Attach OLE Currently not functional.

Volume Allows you to set capacity parameters including Optimization truck and trailer sizes for use with the Volume Optimization feature in Order Entry. (Volume Optimization is an add-on feature.)

Event Codes Allows you to:  Change event code names  Specify whether event codes are billable or non- billable, and payable or non-payable  Retire event codes. Menu Security Allows you enable or disable particular menu commands and related toolbar icons in any of the base applications for any user or user group. Edit Delete Views Allows you to view a list of configurations saved to (cont.) the database. You can also delete selected configurations from this window. Company/Group Allows you to set up company groups for use with Maintenance the Volume Optimization, which is an add-on feature Login Setup Allows you to set up logins for the Agent Order Entry application, which is an add-on feature. User Asset Currently not functional. Maintenance View Stop Information Currently not functional. Utilities Grant Rights to Allows you to grant rights to database objects to all All users. Table Definitions Allows you to view the structure of all tables in the system, save the table structure to a file, and print table definitions. Power Probe Currently not functional. TTS50.INI Removes all comments from your TTS50.ini file for Comment faster loading and easier reading. Removal NetWise Export Custom feature. ShopLink Add-on feature Synchronization Currently not functional. Tools Scroll Orders* Allows access to the Quick Find Orders scroll dialog CTRL+E box, where you can look up a list of orders. Scroll Drivers* Allows access to the Quick Find Drivers scroll CTRL+D dialog box, where you can look up a list of drivers. Scroll Tractors* Allows access to the Quick Find Tractors scroll CTRL+T dialog box, where you can look up a list of tractors.

Scroll Trailers* Allows access to the Quick Find Trailers scroll CTRL+L dialog box, where you can look up a list of trailers. Scroll Companies* Allows access to the Quick Find Companies scroll CTRL+C dialog box, where you can look up a list of companies. Scroll Carriers* Allows access to the Quick Find Carriers scroll CTRL+I dialog box, where you can look up a list of carriers. Scroll Allows access to the Quick Find Commodities scroll CTRL+SHIFT Commodities* dialog box, where you can look up a list of +O commodities. Tools Scroll Truck Stops* Allows access to the Quick Find Truck Stops scroll CTRL+SHIFT (cont.) dialog box, where you can look up a list of truck +K stops. The Find Truck Stops scroll dialog box works with a third party Advances and Fuel Purchases application. If you do not use such an application, you will be unable to retrieve any data in the Find Truck Stops scroll dialog box. Scroll Pay To’s* Allows access to the Quick Find Pay To’s scroll CTRL+SHIFT dialog box, where you can look up a list of Pay To +P records. Scroll Stops* Allows access to the Quick Find Stops scroll dialog box, where you can look up a list of stops recorded for trips that match restrictions you have set. Scroll Ref Nbrs* Allows you to search orders by reference numbers recorded for order headers, stop details or freight details. Mileage Inquiry Allows access to the Mileage Information window, CTRL+M where you can look up the mileage between two locations. Add Driver* Allows you to record a “mini-profile” of a driver. CTRL+SHIFT +D Add Tractor* Allows you to record a “mini-profile” of a tractor. CTRL+SHIFT +T Add Trailer* Allows you to record a “mini-profile” of a trailer. CTRL+SHIFT +L Add Company* Allows you to record a “mini-profile” of a CTRL+SHIFT company. +C Set List Box Allows you to indicate whether records marked as CTRL+SHIFT Property "retired" are to display in drop-down lists. +B

Edit Email Addr Allows you to record/edit email addresses for CTRL+SHIFT companies in your TMWSuite database. +E Custom Options are user- Allows access to user-defined menu options that defined trigger the execution of external programs from within TMWSuite. Window Tile Causes all open windows, active and inactive, to display horizontally. Layer Displays open windows beneath one another. The active window is on top; inactive windows are hidden beneath it. To bring one of the hidden windows to the top, select it in the bottom of the Window menu. Window Cascade Displays open windows one in front of the other, in (cont.) an offset way so that the active window is on top, but does not totally obscure view of the inactive windows. Clicking on a visible portion of an inactive window brings it to the front of the display. Stack Causes all open windows, active and inactive, to display vertically. Arrange Icons Currently not functional. Toolbars You can select the frame toolbar or the sheet toolbar. Sub-options allow you to specify the toolbar's placement on the screen and whether the toolbar will be displayed or hidden. You can also choose whether the toolbar icons will have text defining their function displayed as part of the icon. Buttons Currently not functional. Help Help Currently not functional. F1 Index Currently not functional. CTRL+X Search... Currently not functional. CTRL+H Support Currently not functional. About Identifies the version of the software in use, the name of your database, the location of your INI files, etc. * Refer to TMWSuite Basics Guide for instructions on using these features.
