Please read through this packet in its entirety before filling out the registration form contained on the last page.

Once completed, the registration form may be submitted by…

Emailing it to: [email protected] Faxing it to: 617-744-5479, Attn: Chris Mailing it to: Boston Ski and Sports Club, 51 Water Street, Watertown MA 02472, Attn: Chris Boston Ski & Sports Club 2017-18 INDOOR Football - Team Registration Process & Policies

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING BEFORE SUBMITTING. YOU (AS CAPTAIN) ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KNOWING ALL THE INFORMATION WITHIN THIS PACKET and FEES INCURRED BY YOUR TEAM!

**PLEASE NOTE THE POLCIES REGARDING PAYMENT AND ROSTER SUBMISSIONS

In order to reserve a spot, you must provide  a complete registration form  a $200 deposit

Any registration without appropriate payment will not be accepted. We accept MasterCard or VISA only. American Express or Discover cannot be used. If you are paying by check, your team space is not guaranteed until we have that check in hand. Even those paying via check must provide a valid credit card number on the registration form.

Any team registering after the initial number of accepted teams has been reached may be placed on a wait list. Although some teams may eventually be taken off the waitlist, I strongly suggest turning in all the appropriate info ASAP as space will fill fast. Credit Card charges and Checks for waitlist teams will be held until a space opens up.

Team confirmation

Upon confirmation of registering a team, the team captain will receive 3 separate emails.

a.i. Team confirmation: This will include an attachment that has basic details and timetables for the league (captains’ meeting, T-shirt deadline, roster deadlines etc.)

a.ii. Team Roster Link: You have full control of your roster up to the roster deadline. You will be sent a unique link and password to log into your team’s roster. You will need the following information for every player so that we can electronically confirm their membership status. All information is REQUIRED. a.ii.1. First and Last Name a.ii.2. Email address a.ii.3. Birth date a.ii.4. Phone number a.ii.5. Gender a.ii.6. Membership status

Spelling and accuracy are important otherwise the system will view them as a non- member and you will be charged. My advice is to send a request out to your teammates for this info sooner rather than waiting until the last minute You can make changes and upload new rosters to BSSC as your team make up changes. Non member fees will be processed after the third week of play. At that point you will be charged for anyone who is not a BSSC member. PLEASE DO NOT DELETE THIS EMAIL AS YOU WILL NEED THE PASSWORD PROVIDED WITHIN IT TO MAKE ANY ROSTER CHANGES.

a.iii. A payment receipt: Finally we will be emailing you a receipt for any and all payments made. a.iii.1. If your team is waitlisted – you will note that the “Total Paid” says zero because you have not been charged.

TEAM FEES AND ALL NON-MEMBER FEES ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CAPTAIN

Payments

1) Deposit: A $200 deposit is charged when submitting your registration form

2) Team fee balance: Within 1 week of league start date and prior to first game times being sent out, your team’s remaining balance, not including non-member fees, will be charged. If paying by check, payment must be received one week prior to start or credit card provided will be charged. Teams having not paid their team fee will not be included on the schedule.

3) Non-member fees: Rosters are to be submitted using the online link mentioned above (failing to complete the form can result in your team being removed from the league and/or charged the maximum number of non-member fees). Rosters will be electronically checked against BSSC’s database to verify members/non-members and captains will be notified of the membership status of their players (assuming a team roster is submitted when requested).

4) Payment for non-member fees will be processed at the conclusion of the 3rd week of league play (not necessarily your team’s third game). If a credit card was used for the team fee, you are authorizing BSSC to automatically use it for all non-member fees (unless the captain tells us otherwise). If no roster is given, a maximum non- member fee will be charged (15) and the team will be eliminated from the league.

5) Membership status – To avoid the $25 non-member fee, a player must be a member for the duration of the session. a. Memberships that expire during the session: If they do not renew before the roster deadline (By renewing for $50, it will extend their membership for one full year from the present expiration date), the captain will be charged the $25 non-member fee. b. Non-members wishing to join BSSC: To avoid the $25 non-member fee, a player must join BSSC ($65 for a full year) during the first 3 weeks of the session. ONCE THE $25 FEE IS PAID, IT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED TO THE CAPTAIN, THE PLAYER MUST PAY THE $25 TO THE CAPTAIN DIRECTLY AND THEY CAN NO LONGER APPLY THE $25 TOWARD A MEMBERSHIP. c. Roster changes are allowed up to the 3rd week of the session.

3) Receipts - Once your credit card has been processed you will receive an email confirmation from the transaction.

Other Important information… 1) Referees – Teams will pay the referees cash at the field a. The cost per game for one referee per game is $30. Each team is responsible for half this fee ($15) to be paid in cash prior to the start of the game. These costs are the responsibility of the captain and are not included in the fees listed.

2) Individual payments – We will not accept individual payments for a team fee unless collected by the captain and sent together. Individuals calling to pay their portion of the team fee will not be taken. Entire team fee (including non-member fees) is the responsibility of the captain and is due at the time of registration. 3) 4) SPLITZEE – FAST & EASY WAY TO COLLECT $ FROM YOUR TEAMMATES! 5) BSSC has partnered with Splitzee to make it faster & easier for you to collect money from your players. They have a customized landing page for BSSC, and it allows you to receive credit card payments (MC/VISA/DISC/AMEX) for your player’s portion of the team fees which you can easily deposit from Splitzee into your bank account. We truly believe this should reduce the stress of collections and make your job as captain a whole lot easier. Therefore, in an effort to balance the level of competition, the following policy is in effect. 27) Leagues with 3 Divisions…  A D1 team – has no restrictions  A D2 team’s roster cannot have more than two (2) players whose names appear on a D1 team roster  A D3 team’s roster cannot have ANY players on its roster who play in another division.

Leagues with 2 Divisions…  A 1st Division team – has no restrictions  A 2nd Division team cannot have more than two (2) players whose names appear on a 1st Division team roster 28) 29) Playing on multiple teams within the same division…in divisions where they are multiple conferences, a player is now eligible to play on two rosters in the same division, provided the two teams are in separate conferences. Please note, however, come playoffs, scheduling requests aimed at avoiding conflicts may not be honored. Please plan your team roster accordingly! 30) 31) 4) Sportsmanship Policy 32) Adopted by the Boston Ski & Sports Club 6/21/05 (Revised 04/05/07) 33) 34) A primary goal of the Boston Ski & Sports Club is to provide its participants with a fun and pleasurable sporting experience. This experience begins with the arrival at the field/gym/court and continues through the game and subsequent post game activities. We recognize that the nature of sports in and of itself is competitive. Therefore, we have established rules, which dictate how a game is to be played. These rules include both on field and off field behavior. There is more to sports than winning and losing. Participation in sports is an experience. The benefits of fair play, exercise, teamwork, and camaraderie that exist in our sports leagues far outweigh any win or loss that may appear on a Schedule and Standings page. There is neither a time, nor a place in any BSSC sports league for any individual(s) to behave in an unsportsmanlike manner. No matter what the outcome of a play or a game, good sportsmanship MUST be observed at all times. 35) 36) All persons, participating in a Boston Ski & Sports Club (BSSC) sanctioned sports activity, should be aware of and must adhere to the following policy. 37) 38) In its simplest terms, a good sportsman is defined as someone who not only enjoys playing the game, but enhances the enjoyment of those around them, be it teammates, competitors, officials, or spectators. Any action that detracts from this enjoyment is deemed unsportsmanlike. Therefore, any participant who attempts to or intends to lessen the enjoyment of others will be considered in violation of this policy. 39) 40) Examples of unsportsmanlike activities include, but are not limited to…  verbal or physical abuse of fellow participants  intimidation / aggressive play  hostile language or action directed toward a BSSC game official, a BSSC employee, a BSSC representative or any other game participant 41) 42) Violators of this policy can expect to be immediately ejected from the game and be required to leave the playing area in a timely fashion. 43) 44) Subsequent penalties may include, but are not limited to:  Suspension  Expulsion from the league  A ban from further BSSC activities 45) 46) The degree to which a person is reprimanded is at the sole discretion of BSSC. 47) 48) It is our sincere hope that this policy will be an effective deterrent to poor behavior and help to ensure the continuing existence of fun and safe leagues. 49)

a.i.1.a.i.1. *Number of games listed is a guaranteed number, which may or may not include playoff games 50) 51) **Games may be scheduled for any time between the times listed. Final game times will be determined based on the final number of teams that register 52) ***Base team fee does not include the BSSC Non-member fee of $25 per non-member, nor does it include ref fees 53) 54) Flags and Belts – Teams registering will be given their own sets of flags and belts. Coed team will receive 10 sets. Additional sets can be purchased for $5 each. Equipment bags with belts and flags will not be available at the field, so players must remember to bring their own to each game. *one set = one belt with two flags 55) 56) Coed Teams not needing belts can deduct $50 from the base team fee 57) 58) 59) 60) Divisions Offered – 61) Coed – Divisions 1, 2, and 3 62) Which division should I choose? 63) For returning teams - If you only lost 1-2 games in your division, you should consider moving up a level (if you don’t do it on your own, BSSC may). If you won 2 games or more you are playing in the right division. If you won 0 or 1 game, you might consider moving down. 64) 65) For new teams – Division 1 is the highest level we offer, followed by D2 and D3. While all divisions are competitive amongst themselves, D1 can be classified as an Advanced/Intermediate, D2 is Intermediate, and D3 is Low Intermediate/Beginner.

66) BSSC reserves the right to assign teams to a particular division, as it sees necessary. 67) 68) Non-member fees - 69) Non-member fees are charged upon completion of the third week of the season, which may or may not be your team’s third game.
