Application to Student Ambassadors Programme 2015-16 Notes & Important Dates: 1. Please read the enclosed information before starting application. 2. Please enclose the following documents before submission a. The COMPLETED FORM (including Annex) (Annex: NOT APPLICABLE to freshmen) b. ACADEMIC RESULTS from the last completed semester (NOT APPLICABLE to freshmen) 3. Briefing session: I. 15th September (Tue), 15:00 - 16:00, D205; II. 16th September (Wed), 16:30 - 17:30, D405; III. 17th September (Thu), 17:00 - 18:00, D403 4. Submission deadline: before 6:00pm on 22 nd September 2015 (Tue) a. Hardcopy of application form + Hard copy of supporting document(s) to be submitted in person at M603, Block M during office hours; or b. Softcopy / Scanned application form + supporting document(s) *(need to be seen clearly) can be sent via email to [email protected] (Attn to: Ms. Nicole YEUNG); and c. Complete and submit the Google Form: http://goo.gl/forms/Yqn23NgbC6 5. Applicants should provide COMPLETE information and have to TYPE by Microsoft Word  Except for Part E & Annex (Recommendation; Deadline of Submission: 12:00noon, 24th September), ALL handwritten application form will not be accepted.  Please use the softcopy version of this form to complete most parts of the application 6. Shortlisted students will receive the SHORLISTED RESULT on 25 th September 2015 (Fri) 7. Shortlisted students will be invited for an INTERVIEW to be held on 29 th September (Tue) AND 30 th September 2015. 8. ALL successful applicants are required to join a 2 Day & 1 Night S.A. Orientation Camp (FREE)  Tentative schedule: 7:00pm 9th October - 8:00pm 10th October 2015 Information of Student Ambassadors Programme 2015-16 Introduction The Student Ambassadors Programme aims to identify students who have the passion to explore their unique potentials. Successful candidates will work in an environment where they can develop their abilities and unleash their potentials. Through a variety of exposure from different programmes and training, students are given opportunities to nurture the appropriate attitude and master the right skills to lead a fruitful life – to become a good leader of his/her own life. It can be a lifelong venture but would be the most essential qualities to succeed in life. The Student Affairs Office (SAO) will guide them through team coaching to equip them with the right attitude, the awareness and the soft skills to tackle the challenges ahead and grasp the opportunities.

Offers to the Student Ambassadors 1. Wide range of networking opportunities; 2. Trainings and workshops; 3. Unique opportunities to a variety of valuable experiences.

Roles & Responsibilities 1. Promote & represent the College to external communities through campus tour, reception and any kinds of special events. 2. Student Ambassadors will be assigned to different tasks which involve planning, organizing and promoting the events organized by the College; 3. Students should be committed to regular group meetings & training sessions arranged by the SAO.

Rights  The time spent on activities outside the College may also be counted toward ECA/ CS hours.

Criteria for Selection We are looking for potential leaders from HSMC who have a strong desire and commitment to make a positive difference to their own lives; we expect the participants should fulfill the following:  A Full-time HSMC student;  Obtain good academic standing in the last semester and during the appointment period;  Demonstrate proficiency in spoken and written languages in Cantonese and English; Putonghua will be an advantage;  Be committed, polite, enthusiastic, with positive attitude; and a good team player.

Appointments  ONLY Full-time HSMC students who are committed to serve from Fall 2015 semester to Fall 2016 semester (September 2015 to September 2016) will be considered;  During the appointment period, the performance of student ambassadors will be reviewed regularly.  The College reserves the right to terminate the appointment of student ambassadors based on their performance.  Personal coaching is available to student ambassadors who show interest to achieve self-development.  Interested students are invited to apply for this Programme by completing the application form by 6:00pm on 22nd September 2015 (Tue). Shortlisted candidates will be arranged for attend an interview session which conducted by the Selection Committee on 29 th September (Tue) AND 30 th September 2015.

Performance Evaluation  Student Ambassadors are expected to grow through training and deliver services under guidance.  Evaluation will be conducted in the service period.  Consultation meeting - it will be arranged during organizing the project, student ambassador teams may meet with Student Development Officer to consult about the planning and operation of their assigned project.  Evaluation meeting - it will be held for reviewing the performance of each student ambassador during their participation in handling the assigned project.  Student Ambassadors are required to attend a 3-hour monthly meeting / gathering.

Upon satisfactory completion of the term of appointment, the College may award the students with a Certificate of Recognition.

Acknowledgement of Student Ambassadors After completion of term of Student Ambassadors, certificate of merit will be issued to the Student Ambassadors who attended all the compulsory trainings and at least 80% of activities of Student Ambassadors Programme; and obtained good academic standing during the appointment period. Activities & programmes of Student Ambassadors will be published in the term-end newsletter for sharing with other students.
