Encore Dog Sports Presents
Agility Seminar
With Jason Good of Good Dog Agility
Saturday Sept 6th, 2014 Sunday Sept 7th, 2014 Country Roads Acres, Regina SK
Jason Good started his agility journey in 2003 with a Jack Russel x Toy Fox Terrier, Jackie. Jackie was not the easiest dog to train. For his first agility dog it is amazing he even stuck with it as she wouldn’t interact with him and sniffed the floor constantly. They worked through the issues and have been competing together ever since. She has competed in the AAC Nationals since 2006 with multiple top ten finishes as well as the Regional Champion in her division 2007-2013. She is now semi-retired and comes out to entertain the crowd.
Jason also got TJ, a Miniature Pinscher in 2004 from Ontario as a 1.5 year old rescue. TJ is the dog that got him hooked on this sport. He was very fortunate to have traveled far and wide with TJ to many seminars and trials. TJ loves the sport as much as Jason and they earned a 3rd and two 5th place finishes in Nationals as well as Regional Champion in 2006, 2009-2011. TJ is now fully retired due to chronic arthritis in his neck and misses the sport and all the fun they had.
Because of these two dogs Jason started his weight loss journey and after a few years of not being able to keep up with them he said enough is enough and is proud to say that they helped him lose 172 pounds.
Jason now has Kelpies, Liz and Wynn. They were the next step for him. Liz has earned a 2nd place in the 2012 Regional Championships and in 2013 was the Regional Champion in her division. Wynn just started her agility career but shoes lots of promise.
Jason has enjoyed a lot of success in the sport and it is all due to the many instructors he has had over the years, starting with Diane Mapes and Shirley Ann Redl of D&S Dogs of Course, as well as Kim Anderson and Cheryl Bartlett of Standsure Agility. Jason has also attended many seminars hosted by Terry Simons, Theresa Rector, Mary Ellen Barry, Jen Pinder, Rachel Saunders, Jennifer Crank, Jo Sermon, Dave Munnings, Stuart Mah, Justine Davenport, Janita Leinonen and Jaakko Suoknuuti.
During his time in this sport, he has met many people and travelled to many places and is now excited to pass along some of that passion that he has to you!
