With the state of the economy, Kentucky harvest is constantly in need of donations in order to maintain their daily operations. By having this event, we hope to alleviate that strain and allow KY harvest to continue assisting those in need in our community. This year’s event will be similar to that of last years in that it will be a competition between various student organizations with the idea in mind of raising both canned goods and monetary funds for KY Harvest. The competition will include best banner design, window painting, a canned food drive, an Olympic style competition, Watermelon Toss, T-shirt buying, and the announcement of a Watermelon Bust Queen. The three organizations with the most points at the end of the event will receive a monetary donation to the philanthropy of their choice. The goal of this prize is to enhance organizational involvement. This event is both a fun to participate in, as well as a fun to watch, so it should be easy to get the student body actively involved.
