Arizona Recycling Coalition Scholarship Program 2017/8

Overview Arizona Recycling Coalition (AZRC) is a nonprofit organization of professionals and citizens pledged to promote recycling efforts in private, public and nonprofit sectors throughout Arizona. AZRC provides leadership on waste reduction through education and membership involvement.

Purpose

Recycling is an important part of our community; it conserves natural resources, helps the environment and creates a sustainable Arizona. The intent of the AZRC Scholarship Program is to develop new leaders who are enrolled in an environmental sustainability field of study. AZRC will award up to four $2,500 scholarships to students enrolled full-time in one of Arizona’s Universities or Colleges:

Eligibility

• Proof of enrollment at one of Arizona’s state universities or colleges, such as an unofficial transcript. If awarded a scholarship, an official transcript will be required before funds are disbursed. • Currently enrolled full-time at one Arizona’s state universities or colleges during 2017-2018. • GPA must be 3.0 or higher and proof provided through an unofficial transcript. • Complete scholarship application • Provide a reference from your academic advisor demonstrating your leadership in recycling activities • Must attend the AZRC conference on October 2017.

Guidelines

Meet the eligibility requirements and complete the scholarship application and letter of reference. The scholarship funding is for tuition fees and must be used by the academic year of 2018. The funding cannot be used for outstanding student loans. If awarded a scholarship, tuition payment will be made directly to the school.

Application timeline and requirements

An electronic application is available at: www.ArizonaRecyclingC oalition.org . Scholarship applications must be submitted by September 15, 2017 by 11:59 p.m. The application must be scanned and submitted electronically in PDF format by email to: [email protected] . All applicants will receive confirmation of their electronic submission within 72 business hours of receipt.

The grant awards announcement will be made at the Arizona Recycling Coalition Convention on October, 2017,
