Continued Front page… The Alanticade 09’ was well organized and earned an additional two points towards there rating now bringing them up to a 14 point show of a possible 20 points. The increase of the points was attributed to additional press being on hand. A smoother and more efficient floor layout. The staff, family owned event along with volunteers and sponsors contributed to the events success. The Children’s Wish foundation and their volunteers added to the care and services surrounding all the events from the bike show to the street parties and on to the tire burn-outs and bike riding rallies. It was one event after another. Biker TV and the local press, radio stations and Moto Magazine were there to do the reporting and interviews. IMBBA sanctioned the event and did the Judging both last year and this year’s bike shows, called the Northeastern Bike Building Championship now the largest Custom Bike Show on the East coast of Canada. Brad, The Wrench, Ruel Passes Away at age 43
The Motorcycle Industry Loses One of its Shining Stars.
Today is a sad day in the lives of the people around Brad Ruel. If you know the custom motorcycling industry, then the name is more than familiar. Brad Ruel was also known as “The Wrench” and was a master at crafting beautiful custom bikes. Not that long ago Brad was a star competitor in the Metric Revolution TV show, from which he received a great deal of affection from the industry and enthusiasts around the country.
In 2000 Brad began building custom bikes and has since earned a name amongst the ranks of the greatest builders. Seemingly rough and tough on the outside, Brad had an immense heart and a way with people that signified the quality of his character.
More recently Brad joined in to assist the efforts of ProCorp Customs, as the master fabricator, to build the first ever Fremont Street Experience Las Vegas themed custom motorcycle. Designer of the concept bike, Bo Asciu said today "I hardly got to know Brad but from the little time I spent with him I knew I was in the company of a truly great man". Bo added "It will always remain as one of the greatest honors to have known Brad and more over, to have had him building a dream for our team. He will be missed in a big way."
James Callahan, ProCorp Custom’s partner and owner of Callahan Custom Cycles, was a long time friend of Brads and could hardly speak to express his sadness. "This project is now dedicated to Brad's memory. It's an unbearable moment to know that my friend is no longer here, as a buddy and as a team mate". Across the industry, the news is spreading and the hearts of so many are with the family.
Brad passed away this week (July 15th, 2009), in his sleep at the young age of 43. Until more information is released, this is all we can say. On behalf of the ProCorp Customs team, Custom Eyes Concepts and Callahan Customs Cycles, our deepest condolences go out to the Ruel family. – Pro Corp Customs

We get asked this question a lot! IMBBA is in the process in creating a spread sheet that members can log on to and answer the questions necessary. Once answered, the spreadsheet calculates and discloses the point values for each experience entered by the member. The questions are relevant to experience a person may have and how much time and or experience spent on that particular subject, task etc., how many years spent working on your own bike? How many years have you owned and operated a motorcycle? How many years of schooling did you have relevant to motorcycles, autos, boats etc? We request a resume of work experience and give points that pertain to motorcycle experience. In addition, the points spread sheet goes on giving points for magazines you or your bike were featured in or Bike shows you attended and or placed where your bike you worked on was entered. All these and many more issues are explored in offering points for experience. Once the points are tallied…. The spreadsheet predicts you how many points you earned. This is the number that places you as an Associate, Motorcycle Technician, Bike Builder or Master Bike Builder. “This process is done worldwide now and we are finding the points reflect the same when we judge a bike built by an individual.” said Jeff Starke, IMBBA president.
