Background Information

A working group consisting on Lyn Bosenquet (UNSW), Tony Davies (Swinburne) and myself, with assistance from Bronte Golding (ProQuest) is investigating the effects of federated searching on usage statistics, and making recommendations to CEIRC for a cost model for the consortium purchase of PQD5000 for 2007 access period.

ProQuest has offered to set up a dual usage statistics reporting system (for native interface and federated searching) for CAUL members.

The working group also wishes to apply finding to other applications.

Information about which institutions are using federated searching, the vendor and the software will assist us in this project.
