Dear Families s2

Dear Families,

We have spent the last few weeks determining the spelling strengths and weaknesses of each student in our class. We have looked at all of the information gathered and have developed a plan to meet the individual needs of each student. Although each student will have his or her own list of targeted words to acquire and apply, the spelling homework activities will be the same for each student on specific days of the week. We will begin our spelling homework on Monday, October 20,2014.

Day of Week Homework Activity Monday Write each spelling word 3x Tuesday Write each word and draw a picture or symbol to represent the word Wednesday Ask a family member to be your secretary and choose 3 spelling words to write in a sentence. Remember …if you aren’t doing the writing, your sentences should be longer and more detailed! Thursday Using your spelling cards, play a game of Memory or Go Fish with a family member. Friday Choose a word that you would like to learn how to spell and we will add it to your list for next week  Attached please find examples of the documents you will see each week to support your child with his or her nightly home work.
