Docurama is pleased to announce the release of the Academy Award nominated documentary, Regret to Inform on Tuesday, May 2nd. The documentary, which received wide critical acclaim upon its initial theatrical release, has been screened at over 30 film festivals, winning numerous awards both in the U.S. and in Europe. Most recently the film aired nationally on PBS’ acclaimed series P.O.V. The film will be released on both DVD and VHS formats. Added features exclusive to the DVD are: an interview with filmmaker Barbara Sonneborn, a gallery of images taken during her journey, a map of key sites of the Vietnam War, resource links to affiliated organizations and websites, and the film’s theatrical trailer. Regret to Inform will be in stores on Tuesday, May 2nd.
Exploring the devastation of war from the perspective of both American and Vietnamese women left widowed by the violence of the Vietnam War, Regret to Inform follows filmmaker Barbara Sonneborn on a profound and moving journey to the country where her husband Jeff was killed twenty years before. Through use of archival footage and interviews with women whose stories of suffering and loss have gone largely unheard for two decades, Barbara Sonneborn has created a film that offers insight to the Vietnam War’s other victims.
