IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The Dade City Rod & Gun Club is an alcohol and chemical free club (year around). No use of alcohol or chemicals allowed on the range. Anyone under the influence, or suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or chemicals, will be asked to leave. This is for everyone’s protection and safety.

The monthly Board Meeting is the second Monday of the month and I encourage you to attend. After the board meeting it becomes an open meeting where members can speak and have a voice in your club.

Before you sign in, please show your club identification card to the on duty Range Officer.

From the Secretary - The Board Meeting on April 09, 2012 All 9 members of the board were in attendance as well as 18 members

Old Business – None

2 New Business – Election Results – Stuart Graff was elected as President Charlie Burns continues as CRSO; Jeanne Lavalle, Secretary; Trent Ansel, Director; Paul Lavallee, Director.

The Bylaws – For and Articles – For, also passed.

Treasurer’s report was read by Chet Kucharsky and accepted.

Charlie Burns read the CRSO report and spoke about the “No shot guns” allowed on the range. Signs are up and posted. We have been able to accommodate some members and individuals in the hole during regular operating hours.

Effective with the May RO schedule, one RO will be eliminated from the Friday roster reducing the number of on duty RO’s to two.

Don Orem and Brian Wright have been hosting gun forums during the month. These have been conducted very safe and very professional. You can find more information by visiting the Florida Guns homepage…. www.flaguns.com

Building and Grounds – new picnic tables have been purchased and assembled. One is in the upper parking lot and the other in the lower lot of the 100 yard range.

You will see a new 5 foot barrier wall has been erected on #8 as we continue to improve the range making it safe for all.

New Business You will see new changes to our web site, but it’s still a “work in progress”. Check back often and see what’s new!

The Fundamental NRA Rules for Safe Gun Handling Are:

 Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction  Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot  Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

When Using A Gun, Always Follow These Rules:

 Know your target and what is beyond; make sure the down range area is unoccupied  Be sure the gun is safe to operate  Be thoroughly familiar with how the gun operates  Use only the correct ammunition for your gun  Wear appropriate ear & eye protection  Never use alcohol or drugs before or while shooting  Unattended guns should not be accessible to unauthorized persons.

From the NRA – Safety is never compromised and RO’s are always professional, friendly, helpful, understanding and honest.

For everyone’s safety -

Keep it open and pointed down range (and your finger off the trigger until you have your target in sight).

SAFETY starts with YOU- be aware of your behavior / actions with a firearm in your hand. If talking, do not turn around with your gun in your hand, unload the firearm and lay it down, then finish your conversation.
