PRAYER ROOM RESOURCE MANUAL PROPHETIC WORSHIP

Prophetic Worship

I. WHAT IS PROPHETIC WORSHIP?

a. THIS PRAYER FORMAT IS DESIGNED TO FACILITATE UNITED GROUP PARTICIPATION IN WORSHIP SO THAT WE MIGHT RECEIVE THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN SPECIFIC WAYS.

i. The purpose of prophetic worship is expressed in part during the corporate worship times that we enjoy together at Friday Night Burn Services, and at other services that include teaching and/or ministry times.

ii. Our goal is to reach the highest experience of corporate worship, including ministry times for healing and deliverance.

iii. This is the context to learn to prophesy and minister to one another and to receive soaking prayer for physical and emotional healing.

II.WHY DO WE VALUE PROPHETIC WORSHIP?

a. THE HOLY SPIRIT RELEASES MORE OF HIS PRESENCE AND POWER AS WE FUNCTION TOGETHER IN UNITY.

i. Our vision for IHOP Tallahassee is to enter into the commanded blessing of the Lord.

“Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to DWELL TOGETHER IN UNITY!...FOR THERE THE LORD COMMANDED THE BLESSING – LIFE FOREVERMORE.” (Psalm 133:1-3)

b. THE COMBINATION OF ANOINTED PREACHING WITH ANOINTED MUSIC BRING NEW DIMENSIONS IN BOTH THE NATURAL AND SPIRITUAL REALMS.

i. The whole room can feel the same thing together in a deep way. Even 100,000 in a stadium can enter into the same depth of emotion together and feel the same thing together for hours at a time.

1. Music is at the very center of God’s heart. The human race was created in the image of God. The human spirit is musical. The invisible part of the human personality moves with the Spirit. This is why music is the greatest form of entertainment in every culture and in every generation throughout history.

III. WHAT DO I DO DURING A PROPHETIC WORSHIP SET?

a. ENGAGE YOUR HEART WITH THE LORD IN UNITY WITH OTHERS.

i. Sing along with the worship team during worship songs and during responsive choruses.

ii. Engaging with the Lord in unity with others in an anointed atmosphere results in a greater and longer prophetic flow. The prophetic spirit is released in a greater measure in this kind of atmosphere.

iii. “WHEN THE TRUMPETERS AND SINGERS WERE AS ONE, to make ONE SOUND TO BE HEARD in praising and thanking the Lord…the house of the Lord was filled with a cloud…” (2 Chronicles 5:13)

iv. Singing together unites God’s family with one heart-flow in God. God is jealous about that and wants the whole room feeling and entering into His heart together. Interactive singing causes the people to flow into one heart together.

b. God-centered worship releases God’s justice.

“Let the HIGH PRAISES OF GOD be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute VENGEANCE on the nations…THIS HONOR HAVE ALL HIS SAINTS. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 149:6-9)

“SING A NEW SONG TO THE LORD…GIVE GLORY TO THE LORD, AND DECLARE HIS PRAISE…THE LORD SHALL GO FORTH LIKE A MIGHTY MAN…HE SHALL PREVAIL AGAINST HIS ENEMIES.” (Isaiah 42: 10-13)

2. Focus your affection on God. Turn your attention towards loving Jesus during Prophetic Worship.

a. It is God’s desire that his church would be of one mind and one voice.

“Now THE MULTITUDE OF THOSE WHO BELIEVED WERE OF ONE HEART AND ONE SOUL.”(Acts 4:32)

“Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to BE LIKE-MINDED TOWARD ONE ANOTHER, according to Christ Jesus, that you may WITH ONE MIND AND ONE MOUTH glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15:5-7)

b. When the church flows together with one heart in one accord, supernatural power is released.

“Now when the Day of Pentecost had fully come, THEY WERE ALL WITH ONE ACCORD IN ONE PLACE. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting, THEN THERE APPEARED TO THEM DIVIDED TONGUES, AS OF FIRE, AND ONE SAT UPON EACH OF THEM.” (Acts 2:1-3)
