The Parkston Planning Commission met in regular session on August 6, 2015 in the City Hall Chambers. The meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm by Pape with the following members present: Puetz, Pape, Ziebart, Gunnare and Holden. Absent: None.

Also in attendance were Sean and Tammy Wheeler and Donna and Norb Nolz.

The minutes, from the July 9, 2015 meeting were email to the board members, motion to approve minutes by Ziebart, seconded by Gunnare. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Permit #1311 by Truman Wages located at 200 N First St. for a temporary handicap ramp. Motion to deny and have Truman Wages apply for a variance by Puetz, seconded by Ziebart. Motion carried by unanimous vote

Greg Reiser walked in at 7:15.

Permit #1316 by Lisa Ketchum located at 210 S Railroad, for replacing the front porch with a larger one that is 9X12X2’8” ramp to be added. Motion to approve, by Puetz, seconded by Holden. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Permit # 1317 by Sacred Heart Parish located at 409 and 411 West Main for a 16x 24 x9 storage shed. Motion to approve by Holden, seconded by Gunnare. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Permit # 1318 by John Polreis located at 107 N Ben Street for a 12x24 garage to be moved in. Motion to deny by Puetz based on current garage doesn’t meet the requirements of Ordinance #322 Section 519, b. Applicant can utilize section C to meet the requirements of remodeling to bring the value up to 50% of a newly constructed building, seconded by Gunnare. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Inquires about building living quarters along side their business. Inquires about platting Reiser Tract 4 and Tract R1. Inquires on moving a building.

Motion to recommend the following resolution by Ziebart, seconded by Pape,

The plat of Lots 1, 4, and 5 Block 11, South View Addition, City of Parkston, Hutchinson County South Dakota, prepared by Kim McLaury of McLaury Engineering, a Registered Land Surveyor, be and the same is hereby approved and its adoption by the City Council of the City of Parkston, South Dakota, is hereby recommended. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Motion to adjourn was made at 7:55pm by Puetz, seconded by Ziebart, motion carried by unanimous vote.
