„HARMONISATION OF LEGISLATION WITH EU ACQUIS COMMUNAUTAIRE" - The situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the experiences of neighboring countries

I. Call For Contributions

Think Tank Banja Luka in cooperation with the Institute of Comparative Law from Belgrade organize a II. International scientific conference on the topic: „Harmonisation of legislation with EU Acquis Communautaire - The situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the experiences of neighboring countries”.

The goal of the Conference is to gather in one place exhibitors, representatives of the academic community, representatives of the criminal justice system, law enforcement agencies, governmental and non-governmental sectors from the region of the Western Balkans. The conference will be discussed developments in the process of harmonization of domestic legal standards with the EU acquis.

Topic of the scientific conference will refer to the negotiation chapters 23 and 24 in the process and accession to the European Union. Within the general theme, narrow thematic area is selected, of free choice. In this regard, we suggest that scientific papers prepared for scientific meeting focused on the following narrow thematic areas:

Chapter 23: Judiciary and fundamental rights - the focus of the negotiation process in the following areas: - The judiciary (strengthening the independence, impartiality and accountability, professionalism, competence and efficiency), - Prevention of Corruption (legal and institutional framework, policies and strategies to prevent corruption repression of corruption), - Fundamental rights and - EU citizens' rights.

1 Chapter 24: Justice, freedom and security - focus on the following topics: - Asylum - Migration, - Visas, - Police cooperation, - The external borders of the Schengen system, - The fight against organized crime, - The fight against human trafficking, - The fight against terrorism, - The fight against drugs, - Judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, and - Customs cooperation.

The Conference will be organized in plenary and through parallel sections. Exhibitors in the plenary sessions will determine the Scientific Committee of the conference.

Papers: One author can submit a maximum of two papers - one as the first author and the second as the co-author. Papers should be submitted in electronic format, according to the instruction that makes the Annexes of this call, including the translation of the summary into English, on the e-mail address: istrazivackicentarbl @ gmail .com The official languages of the conference and papers are: Serbian (Latin and Cyrillic script) and English. The works are volume up to 30,000 characters, including spaces, A4, prepared as directed. Upon submission papers will be reviewed. After a positive review papers will be published in conference proceedings.

Important dates: Deadline for registration with an indication of the paper topic: until 05 February, 2018 The deadline for submission of papers: until 05 March, 2018 The deadline for the notification of acceptance: until 25 March, 2018 The deadline for payment of the registration fee for participation: until 27 March, 2018 The date of scientific conference: 29 – 30 March, 2018

Fee: The authors of the introductory speeches, members of the Scientific and Organizing Committee, and members of the association do not pay the registration fee. Authors and/or co-authors of accepted papers, as well as participants without paper are paying the registration fee in the amount of 50,00 EUR. The fee includes participation on international scientific conference, a complete set of working materials, including the Proceedings and certificate of participation, refreshments during the breaks of the conference and cocktail at the closing meeting.
