3 Graduate Student Association Report GPC Meeting March 23, 2011

 Last month we volunteered at the Dog Sled race and held a dinner and bowling social event.  GSA won the Real World Experience Superior Edge Logging Competition, meaning we logged more hours than any other student organization for this edge.  Graduate Student Week will be held April 11-15. o The event will feature a “Let’s Chat” session with the administration and possibly a speaker on Monday or Tuesday. o As well as a panel for undergraduates who are interested in apply for graduate school. GSA members from various departments will sit on the panel which will be on Wednesday, April 13 at 5PM in LRC 235A. Please encourage any undergraduate students interested in grad school to attend. o We will also be, once again, supporting the Celebration of Student Research with promotion. This year we will also have our own poster/table at the celebration to promote the GSA. o And finally we are in the process of setting up a volunteering activity and social for that Friday.  Planning for the Fall 2011 Graduate Professional Development Conference is also underway, lead by Co-Coordinators Heather Munsche and Erik Maillard. o If you are interested in presenting at the conference or know of a particular need that could be address during this event, please e-mail [email protected].
