Counselor Announcement

January 22 (next Monday) is the first day of a new term and most of you will have changes to your schedule. Even if your schedule was set in the fall, there have been changes to the master schedule which means there could still be changes to your schedule. Remember, this is not the time of year to choose your classes – we are only making corrections! You should request a schedule change if you: · are in a class you have already taken · do not have 4 classes · are in the incorrect level of a course · have a teacher/coach recommendation to change a course.

Please use the Counselor QR code that can be found throughout the building and just outside the counseling office, to submit any schedule changes that are needed.

WYP Announcement

Day 2 - Benefits of Volunteering, continued

The third benefit - Volunteering your body helps you have a healthier body. A Corporation for National & Community Service report noted: “Research demonstrates that volunteering leads to better health… those who volunteer have lower mortality rates, greater functional ability, and lower rates of depression later in life than those who do not volunteer.”

The fourth benefit - Volunteering your experience helps build your experience. We consistently see this with highly skilled professionals like investment bankers and business consultants. Also, volunteering in a new industry will give you knowledge to help you switch fields. And if you want to move from the corporate world to the nonprofit sector, volunteering first can help prove your commitment. It makes job applicants look more appealing to hiring manager.

Track and Field Announcement
