WCB Nova Scotia is looking for a passionate storyteller with excellent writing skills to join our communications and marketing team in the role of Communications Advisor.
A talented content creator, the Communications Advisor will write and produce a variety of pieces – from blog posts and articles, to speeches and presentations; from website copy and social media content, to quarterly and annual reports.
Reporting directly to the Manager, Communications and Marketing, the Communications Advisor will continuously apply a storytelling lens to the work we do and seek opportunities to share stories that help advance the WCB’s corporate goals and promote a culture of workplace safety with our stakeholders, both external and internal.
The Communications Advisor will also be responsible for a range of professional communications and marketing projects, including the development and implementation of strategic communications plans and social marketing campaigns, and a wide variety of communication tactics, both alone and in consultation with project teams.
As the ideal candidate, you are an exceptional writer. You possess a university degree or diploma in Public Relations, plus two years’ related experience in a strategic communications environment. Experience in internal and external communications, including developing and implementing strategic communications plans is required. Excellent organization skills are vital, and project management experience would be considered an asset. Thorough knowledge of communications vehicles, their appropriate structures and implementation is essential. With exceptional communication skills, you possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical by nature.
