This will be an evening of fellowship and sharing.

I encourage each Conference to send at least one person. You will not want to miss our keynote speaker to be announced. It is always inspiring and uplifting. Just a note to you of the importance of this annual meeting. This is a time for your voice to be heard as you vote or discuss the budget, decisions made by Western Regional Council and vote in or not changes to our by-laws. It is also a chance for you to pick up material developed for Vincentians. Many of you work away in your Conferences, doing your thing and failing to see the whole picture. You belong to a whole wide world of Vincentians, who also serve the poor. You are part of that family. Just think of the importance of family and the disaster of dysfunctional families. We want to be a strong family, loving family that prays together. I honestly believe that you would be doing a great service to the poor you serve, our friends, if you take the time to educate, rejuvenate and lift yourself by attending the AGA. It is like going to a family reunion. Think of those joys. Can you imagine what RCIA, Pastoral Care, Prayer Groups, CWL, Knights of Columbus, our Priests and Bishops and so on would be like if they did not improve themselves in some way. So it is with the Servants of the Poor. We are seeking to serve Christ in our friends the poor and to do so, we need to gather all the tools we can. Come and join your Vincentian Family 1 1/2 days of reunion. I am going to have people all over praying that you will be there. Please do not disappoint the hard working Vincentian brother and sisters of Taber. God bless all. In service to Christ through the poor, Lynn L’Heureux President, Western Regional Council Society of St. Vincent de Paul Agenda for 10th Annual General Assembly and Meeting Society of St. Vincent de Paul Western Regional Council May 19 & 20, 2006
