FROM THE HEAD TEACHER Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullah

In my conversations with children this week, I have been reminded of several things: their natural innocence (from the fitrah), their desire to do the right thing, and their sense of justice.

At Suffah, we try to nurture the fitrah, encourage children to make the right choices, and teach and practice fairness and equity in our dealings with others inshaAllah.

I thank Allah (SWT) for the blessings He has given us in the form of wonderful children, committed staff and supportive parents. May He increase us in faith, strength and honesty. Aameen.

Please give me your feedback, I really do appreciate it.

------FROM THE DEPUTY HEAD TEACHER Assalamualakum,

Abacus, the maths toolkit is finally up and running. Most of the children have received their login details for

I am pleased to say many children have already started using the interactive games and activities that their teachers have allocated them. As children complete their interactive tasks, they gain rewards which can be used for games of their choice. Videos which recap key teaching topics can also be accessed by children.

Abacus can be accessed via computers as well as tablets. If you are experiencing any issues, please check with the teachers or the website help desk.

If your child does not have access to a computer, please let me know by emailing me. Insha’Allah we will try to ensure every child at Suffah benefits from this resource.

Soofia Ahmed ([email protected]) ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. FROM THE QUR’AN AND ISLAMIC STUDIES TEACHER The value for this month is honesty.

Ayah of the week is: "As for those who believe and do righteous deeds, of course, We do not waste the reward of those who are good in deeds." (Al-Kahf V30)

Hadith of the week: Narrated Abu Dharr: The Prophet said, “Do not disdain any good deed, even your meeting with your brother with a cheerful face.” (Sahih Muslim)

FROM THE ASSISTANT HEAD TEACHER

Asalaam Alaikum Parents

I pray you are well with the grace of Allah. Here at Suffah, we would like children to give serious consideration to improving their behaviour on a regular basis. Could you please help us by reminding our children that our actions may affect others in different ways to how they may affect us. For example, an action may appear to be ‘play’ to one person but may affect another in a more serious way. I would like to encourage our children to think about ‘empathy’; how our actions affect others and to consider their feelings as well as our own at all times.

As usual, I would to thank you for your continued support with the children at home.

JazakAllah Khair.

Congratulations to the stars of the week!

FROM THE ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

Assalamu’alaikum wa Rahmatullah

Kindly provide a healthy lunch and snack with your child on a daily basis. Encouraging children to eat a nutritious, balanced diet early on is important for a number of reasons, such as helping them grow and develop optimally and feeling more energised and motivated, supporting their ability to learn.

We will be holding workshops next week, Insha'Allah, to promote Healthy Eating to all our children from Reception through to year 6.

Spring term fees are due on Monday 5th December by 9am to the main office. If you are unsure of your child's fee amount, please contact the office as soon as possible.

A reminder all children are to be escorted by parents to the front door at all times including when children are coming in late. Any child who is coming up unaccompanied, parents will be having a formal meeting with management.

Please note, Dinner money is to be paid on Mondays only or on the child's first day back after absence.

Jazzak Allah Khayre for your continuous support
