Michelle Bechen, graduated from the University of Iowa and has worked at Loras for 13 years while Cavanagh is a graduate of Saint Louis 1:50-3:15 Group work sessions University and joined the Loras Social Work Program in 2011. Discussion of topic with case studies to This workshop has two specific goals: discuss a) to deepen awareness of the dynamic nature of the Code of Ethics- most specifically Ethics and Social Media b) to apply such knowledge to the task of concrete ethical decision- 3:15-3:50 Discussion of outcomes and case studies making and every day scenarios. 3:50 – 4pm Summary and Conclusions Toward the first goal, the workshop will involve participants in clarification and discussion of the following: *Note: This workshop covers the 3 hour ethics requirement a) Review the tenets related to technology and implied social media guidelines for Professional Licensure Bureau b) Review the general principles this document encourages c) What in this document challenges Social Workers to act differently? d) What are social work ethics? Is there a difference between being an ethical person and an ethical social worker?

Toward the second goal, the workshop will involve the participants in discussions focused on specific cases in social work ethics in the workplace setting.
