2. Aims and Objectives

1) Course objectives Cognitive Domain (knowledge gained) - Students will learn how to introduce themselves.

- Students will understand how to communicate with others using Chinese in daily life.

- Learn to read pinyin, part of Chinese character, sentences, conversation and short paragraphs.

- Students will know how to put forward new ideas. Affective Domain (Attitude, morals, and ethics gained ) - The students have a positive attitude towards studying Chinese and enjoy learning in class. - The students gain more self-confidence in their speaking skills and ability to use materials to help their study. - Students will more interested in Chinese and Chinese culture. Psychomotor Domain (skills, IT skills) - The students will learn speaking skills, pronunciation, and Chinese grammar.

- The students are required to be able to read pinyin, part of Chinese character, sentences, conversation, short paragraphs and to write pinyin, part of Chinese character.

- The students are capable understanding text and making presentations. 2) Purposes for developing/ modifying the course None

3. Course Management mko.3

1) Course description The course outline will cover pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, phrases, sentences, dialogues, short essays and cultural knowledge. Students will learn general listening and speaking skills, identify common Chinese characters, comprehend basic reading understanding.

2) Teaching hours per semester Lecture/ Additional teaching hours Training/ Self-study practice Fieldwork hours 45 hours The students who have none 3 hours per Chinese problems or week misunderstand the lessons will be able to make an appointment for extra classes.

3) Additional Private Study or Learning Hours - An average of 5 hours per week - Students can contact the instructor through email and inquire in person.

4. Development of Learning Outcomes in Domains of Learning
