. Summer 1998-July 2000 Carolina Population Center, Research Assistant. Evaluating the efficiency and equity impacts of health services decentralization in Paraguay. Duties included: elaboration of the household health survey, analysis of the results of the client survey and the household health survey.
. Summer 1997, Summer 1996 The Inter-American Development Bank, Consultant. Summer 1997 Helped to design the terms of a loan to support the structural reform of Venezuela’s Social Security System, including reform of pensions, medical services and unemployment insurance. Summer 1996 Drafted a report that proposed a set of policies to improve the role of Venezuela’s Social Security System (IVSS) in the financing and production of medical services, with special emphasis on alternatives to enhance the private health insurance industry.
. Summer 1995 The World Bank, Consultant. Assisted Dr. Gerver Torres, former Minister of the Venezuelan Investment Fund, in the preparation of a second book on privatization of social services in Venezuela.
