The Following Options Apply to Job Club/Networking Activity Only

Job Club/Job Search Referral Criteria Duration: 4 weeks, possible optional 2 week extension

As of August 2006 revisions have been made to the Job Club/Networking referral criteria and Job Club/Networking process in an effort to improve work participation rates, meet client needs and increase job placements. This memorandum is being issued to clarify the current referral criteria, offer options for adamant clients who prefer Job Club/Networking but do not meet the referral criteria (specifically limited literacy and/or limited English speaking) and how to handle pregnant clients in their 2nd or 3rd trimester. Spanish/Vietnamese speaking clients will be assessed for literacy and/or English level the first day of Job Club/Networking and will be assigned by the designated Facilitator accordingly.

** Please note: Job Club sessions with language capabilities will be scheduled approximately 2 weeks after intake orientation sessions. ** *** Clients that do not meet the CIU referral criteria will be addressed on a case by case basis.***

Monolingual Clients: ● If client is adamant about attending Job Club—use criteria above. ● If client speaks language other than Spanish or Vietnamese - prior to CIU VTR training referral, review for prior VTR balance of time, must have at least six months remaining. *** ● If during Job Club/Job Search activity, client finds they do need ESL services, activity can end early for referral to ESL classes/services.

Pregnant Clients: ● If client is in the 1st trimester (up to 3 months)—use criteria above. ● If client is in the 2nd trimester (4 to 6 months)—option: Job Club/Networking or Good Cause.

● If client is in the 3rd trimester (7 to 9 months)—no referral to activity: Good Cause.
