According to state law, all persons employed for the first time by the Board of Education shall have a chest x-ray or approved tuberculosis test and the results must be on file at the county office.

West Virginia Law now requires that county boards of education request the record of any and all criminal convictions relating to child abuse, sex-related offenses or possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver same, from the West Virginia Criminal Identification Bureau for all future employees. Henceforth, all employment by the Pleasants County Board of Education will be made pending verification by the Criminal Identification Bureau that the prospective employee has no criminal conviction in regard to the above stated areas. I hereby certify that I have not knowingly withheld any information that might adversely affect my chance for employment with Pleasants County Schools. All information provided in or with this application is true, correct, and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that any false statements, misrepresentations, or omissions of fact in or with this application are grounds for rejection of this application or for immediate discharge if I am employed regardless of the time elapsed before the discovery.
