Firm Background Parker/Hunter Asset Management is a subsidiary of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a major broker-dealer originally organized in 1832. Founded in 1994, Parker/Hunter Asset Management is based in Pittsburgh and provides investment management services to high net worth individuals, corporations and institutions. Parker/Hunter Asset Management (“PHAM”) manages approximately $2.5 billion in client assets, including equities, fixed income and cash. PHAM’s primary strategies include an all-cap core equity strategy, equity income strategy, and asset allocation strategies primarily employing exchange-traded funds and/or mutual funds. PHAM combines quantitative screening and fundamental research to select investments in the construction of client portfolios. PHAM manages client assets in separately managed accounts with multiple custodians.

Job Description PHAM is seeking a Chief Administrative Officer. The candidate will be responsible for all administrative and operational activities of the firm including client service, trading operations, portfolio accounting, Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) audit, human resources, compliance, and primary liaison with Janney Montgomery Scott operations. Such activities will be coordinated with and complement PHAM marketing and investment professionals.

As PHAM continues to grow job responsibilities are expected to change accordingly. A BA/BS degree is required, with a preference for coursework in finance, accounting, and economics. An MBA or other advanced degree in finance or economics is desirable. Ten years of experience in the financial industry is expected, with further specialization in investment management desirable. A demonstrated ability to manage a team effectively is essential.

Requirements/Preferences  Undergraduate degree with demonstrated commitment to excellence; relevant graduate degree preferred.  Committed interest in the investment management industry  Ten years of experience in financial industry; investment management desireable.  Proven ability to manage team effectively to achieve goals.  Highly numerate. Proficiency in mathematics, accounting, finance and economics.  Strong problem solving skills; ability to learn and integrate new concepts.  Ability to communicate effectively.  Timeliness and accuracy; attention to detail.  Ability to work effectively in team setting; experience with supervision.  Demonstrated skills in relevant information technology to support investment management functions; experience with portfolio accounting systems preferred.  Strong spreadsheet and database skills preferred
