Making an Altar

Making an Altar

Aim: to make an altar out of balsa wood.

You will need: a pattern, a piece of balsa wood, scissors, glue, paint, pencil a piece of white paper for the altar cloth, textas or coloured pencils

What to do: 1. Cut out the pieces of the pattern. 2. Trace around the pattern pieces onto the balsa wood. Trace the table leg twice. 3. Using your scissors, cut out the pieces of the table. 4. Glue the support between the two legs. (Ask your teacher to use the glue gun.) 5. When this is dry glue the legs to the underside of the table top. 6. Leave your altar to dry for a while. 7. While you are waiting for your altar to dry you can use a piece of paper to make an altar cloth. Decorate around the edges with religious symbols. 8. Paint your altar a light brown.

Have we achieved our aim? Yes if you have a beautiful altar and cloth.
