Healthcare Billing & Management Association Announces 2012 Board of Directors and Officers

Don Rodden, CHBME, assumes presidency and joins new executive members to drive strategy and deliver quality educational resources to medical billing industry

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. — January 9, 2012 — The Healthcare Billing & Management Association (HBMA), a non-profit educational/informational resource and advocacy group representing third-party medical billers and practice management billing professionals, announced today the election of the officers and new members of the 2012 HBMA Board of Directors.

The HBMA Board of Directors is responsible for governing, supervising and controlling the affairs of the association, in addition to establishing its policies and programs. Members will work in cooperation with the chief elected officer, the executive committee, other board members and the association’s national office staff. In 2011, Don Rodden worked with other members of the HBMA Board to identify the proposed slate of 2012 candidates.

“There is tremendous power in unity, and in the last two decades, HBMA has harnessed that power and transformed the medical billing industry for the better. I couldn’t be more honored and humbled to serve as president for such an ambitious association,” said Rodden. “As we move into 2012, I will work with our executive board to ensure that we continue adapting to the evolving needs of our members and delivering the valuable tools and information necessary to remain effective in light of the challenges and opportunities presented before our industry.”

Rodden is a principal of HealthPro Medical Billing, Inc. and has more than 30 years of practice experience with 20 years specific to the medical billing industry. Prior to medical billing, his background as a CPA included managing a CPA firm’s tax department and developing a private CPA and practice management firm. He is an honors graduate of Anderson University with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration. Rodden has been an active member of HBMA since 1995 and has held positions on the board for the past four years.
