The music you will be playing in next week’s concert is: Line 20 (pizzicato then arco), lines 36 and 41 (pizzicato), 27 (pizz. Then arco) , 49 (arco), and line 9 (pizz. Then arco).

Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat Sun Mon Start of practice session: Using an egg carton at home, practice shadow bowing while going from the D to the A string and back. Check your bow hold with pictures in the book and directions from Ms. G. Stretches: BEFORE you continue the rest of your practice, spend some time every day doing the arm stretches I showed you in class. Lesson Book: For this week, focus on practicing our concert music. Play each song from start to finish. Make sure you are practicing them pizzicato and arco, especially for #20 and #27. A tip for practicing that I would like to share with you is: don’t stop practicing when you get the music right. Practice until you can’t get it wrong. This week we are preparing for our Winter Concert! Your student is using an egg carton at school to practice using the bow; please save an egg carton at home for them to use as well. Your students have been working very hard and it will be very exciting for them to have a performance, especially after only a few months of playing their instruments. Please be supportive and continue to monitor your student’s practicing. Please take some time to listen to your student play through our concert music and indicate this here:

Focus on having the correct bow hold (you should know what that is by now!). Stretches: BEFORE you continue the rest of your practice, spend some time every day doing the arm stretches I showed you in class. Lesson Book: For this week, focus on practicing our concert music. Play each song from start to finish. Make sure you are practicing them pizzicato and arco, especially for #26- 27. We are also working on some new music-lines #56-64. A tip for practicing that I would like to share with you is: don’t practice until you get the music right. Practice until you can’t get it wrong.
