Job Announcement Station Manager/Host (WACG Radio) Augusta, Georgia The Station Manager/Host provides oversight of the daily operations of WACG, including administration, personnel, budget, locally originated programming, and promotions all in the interest of best serving the needs of the Greater Augusta community. This includes planning, producing, and coordinating locally originated programming, as well as managing that programming with the guidance of the Director of Radio of Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB). The Station Manager/Host also collaborates with the greater Augusta community, including the University to insure the community is being appropriately reflected within GPB’s programming on WACG. Job Responsibilities Include:  Manage original production and ensure content is consistent with the mission, goals, and editorial policies of WACG and the GPB network of stations;

 Represent WACG, GPB, and the University to the greater Augusta audience in public venues and events;

 Assists GPB network management in planning, coordinating and implementing WACG locally originated programming and on-air related activities; ensures compliance with FCC and other federal and state rules and regulations, as well as the policies of GPB and the University;

 Develops digital strategies in conjunction with GPB and the University for utilizing online and social media content and distribution;

 Moderate panels or community discussions and make promotional appearances at community events;

 Serve as a community liaison to enhance the visibility of WACG within the greater Augusta community; understand the community’s information needs, and increase the presence of WACG as a catalyst of community civic engagement;

 Assists GPB network management in fundraising activities, promotions and programming initiatives;

 Participate in the development of station goals, policies and procedures consistent with public media;

 May be required to be on 24-hour call as deemed necessary;

 Supervises student interns from the University and assists in recruiting, selecting, motivating, and supervising them and their education related projects;

 Performs other duties as required;

 Report to the Director of Radio at GPB for all broadcast and content related functions

 Report to the Office of Communications and Marketing at GRU for community relations and student intern functions. Candidate Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Broadcast Engineering, Journalism, Media Arts, Communications or related field required; five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in radio including on-air, programming and production, public speaking, communications or a related field required; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities for the job.
