GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Transmitting the papers
Transmit the papers either personally, into the mailbox 143 in the lobby or through Blackboard > Tools > Digital Dropbox. Please DO NOT send your assignment papers by email.
The reports of the1. Assignment must also be posted on Blackboard > Discussion Board, for the other students to read.
Note the due dates. Delayed papers are downgraded, and papers transmitted after 22 May are failed.
Guidelines for written assignments
Write the assignments in accordance with the “Assignments” instructions of Haaga- Helia: http://myy.haaga-helia.fi/~laatu/opn/Thesis_index.htm
While completing assignments remember that copying and pasting of existing text is not the correct way to work. Even if you will need lots of background information you should focus on analyzing it and making your own conclusions, since your own contribution establishes the most valuable part of the report.
Guidelines for indicating sources of reference
You must always indicate the sources used in your text.
For details, see the “Reports” instructions of Haaga-Helia, especially chapter 2.7.2: http://myy.haaga-helia.fi/~laatu/opn/Thesis_index.htm
Avoid direct quotation (citing) because it is copying and therefore not worth much unless followed by your own conclusions. Direct quotations, if used, must be separated from the text by a different font or placed inside quotation marks.
