COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS NETWORK MEMBER FORUM IDEA SHEET

Your forums are a wonderful way for you to connect with the military community.

Here are some ideas on how to make the most of your forums.

Topic (or in the case of large organizations, sub forum) Ideas:

(1) Introduction Topic: Describe your organization. Upload pictures of leadership. Your ambassador (the person who will be doing the posting and moderating) should have a thumb nail photo uploaded as their avatar. (2) Current Events: List and describe your events. Military families love to be involved. (3) Military Programs: Describe any unique programs that you have for the military (4) Photo Gallery: Upload and describe photos of your organization’s activities. A picture says a thousand words. (5) Military Family Notes: Present and Past military family members of your organization writing about what they liked best. (6) Newsletters: Save a topic list for your newsletters. (7) Files of interest: Create a Download Library where you have articles or files uploaded for the benefit of military families or for community information. (8) Ask Me: A Place where military families can ask you questions about your organization (9) Read only press releases. (10)Welfare requests. A Place to accept requests for help.

Ideas for sub-forums: Your organization may have remote members. We can provide sub- forums that are private/password protected so only your members or leaders may access it. You may use some of the ideas above or maybe you just want to offer more privacy to support your particular support mission.

Remember that we will share your information and expect that you will share the military support information we pass on to you in every way your organization can manage. Our Community Connection Agreement outlined what you said you can do, work hard to find ways to share the resources we send to you and encourage your members to do likewise.
