Biomass Stove Join RAMP Indonesia Incubation Program

Dr.rer.nat Muhammad Nurhuda's Biomass stove is announced to be chosen in the mentoring and incubation by Recognition and Mentoring Program (RAMP) Indonesia. Such is as explained by the Director of RAMP Indonesia, Andy Pradjaputra, in a letter to him. This announcement is a follow up of the presentation that he participated on Thursday (21/1) in Jakarta. Revision advices given by RAMP Indonesia for the biomass stove is that the design and construction needs to be improved, especially the body of the stove, which gets hot when the stove is used, which can endanger the user. Other advice is the need to avoid toxic effect on the long term use. To PRASETYA Online, Nurhuda said that the incubation is divided into two, technology incubation and business incubation. For the technology, RAMP Indonesia gives him grant of Rp. 15 million. While for the business incubation, each of the participants will be entered in an alternate program with initial capital that is determined by the participants. "In the program, RAMP will grant the initial modal to be used starting on the production stage, marketing, up to the post sales service. If the project succeeds, the initial capital should be returned, and if the business failed, the initial capital will be taken as debt and it can be cleared", he said. On the proposal that he submitted, Nurhuda said that he proposed Cost Budget of Rp.150 million for business incubation on two years. As a start up, 500 stoves will be produced for household scale and 500 stoves for small business. The production will be done in cooperation with a workshop in Merjosari-Malang. "The two stove has different specification", said Nurhuda to PRASETYA Online. On the household stove, the test shows that to cook 16 litres of water, it takes less than an hour with 600-700 gram of biomass fuel. With bigger combustion room, Nurhuda predicts that the stove for industry/restaurant will provide two hours of using time. In the marketing, Nurhuda plans to use credit system in cooperation with cooperation institutions, as advised by RAMP Indonesia.
